JUST BACK - Report on CRT Dinner

The menu was almost exactly what is listed on allearsnet.com. If you want to know what they have, check out that website. I don't think they list the slipper dessert on that website, but it is available.

As for the comment of being really full and then going on rides, that was one of the reasons we shared. I also didn't really like the root mashed potatoes either. I didn't eat much of them. Loved the beef filet steak though - so flavorful!

I am not really a big fan of caesar salad in general anyway, but nothing else appealed to me from the appetizer menu, so that's why we tried it. It came with this cracker type thing which we broke up and sprinkled all over the salad. That was what I didn't like about the salad. I wish we would have tried it before doing that, I would have just not eaten it.

This will be our 5th trip to DW and we have never eaten in the castle!! I was wondering why they do not have the princess's at the dinner meal? Is the dinner as hard to get ressie's for as the breakfast? If Cinderella greets people coming in, does everyone get a chance to get pictures? Seems like this would hold up the seating. We just have to eat there for one meal. I have 2 granddaughters that would love it!! :wizard:

I don't think dinner is as tough to get ressies for as breakfast, but when we were there (Wed. Aug. 31), the parks were not crowded, but CRT was! Every table was filled when we dined. So I would strongly suggest having an ADR if you want to eat there.

I don't know why they don't have the dinner as a character meal. Cinderella is not promised to be in the lobby greeting folks - in fact, she was not there when we left around 7pm - so do not count on that! I've heard the Fairy Godmother is sometimes there also. She wasn't when we came through.

The lobby area is on the main level (same level as the park). You actually dine a few floors up (you go up a spiral staircase). It offers wonderful views of the park if you're seated by the window. So, the lobby is just a waiting area, seeing Cinderella there doesn't hold up the seating. It was very orderly when we were there. When we walked in, there were several other families waiting to be seated and no one was up by Cinderella (they had obviously greeted her when they first arrived). So my girls got plenty of time to talk and take pictures with her. We waited about 5-10 min. before we were seated and pretty much everyone went up to Cinderella when they first arrived and then sat down to wait when they were done visiting with her. It was all very civilized :)

Castle dinner was our best meal all week!!! DH got the prime rib stuff I found it bland too. I got the filet and loved it DH ended up wishing he'd gotten it too tho his prime was good mine was better.

Ceaser salad was good as well. I thought the slipper dessert was a bit small for 10.00 but since we too was on the free dining it didn't matter I really didn't need dessert period. DH got the crown sundae and enjoyed it. One of the few things he ordered all week that I did not try I don't care for hand dipped ice cream soft serve only for me.

We got very good service here and the server was good at informing us what was and was not included with the free dining. We had a corner window table my view was not that great but DH had a great view. I can't stand to sit with my back to the room tho so I was happier where I could see what was goin on around me rather than lookin out the window.

Given the chance we will do the castle dinner again maybe twice the same visit.
