Our family has been to DW several times, but this was a first albeit very quick visit to DL. We only had one day, so we elected to only do DL and save CA for another trip. Had a great time, but felt the crowds were high. Having nothing to compare to, but long lines and Lots of people in the streets. Dragged my family out of bed early, so we made it to rope drop. I can not overstate how much time this saved us! 
We fast passed all of the rides we could and most of the others we wanted to see. Only missed Nemo, line was over 45 min and we elected not to wait. Longest line we had was a tie between Matterhorn and the fast pass line for Indy, about 20 minutes. Fantasmic was out of control busy for the first show, the second only slightly less. We did get to see the second show and loved it! Some quick observations, loved PoTC here, much better, ditto for SM. Enjoyed Indy, but Raiders is my all time favorite movie. The theming was incredible. Overall, not better or worse, mostly just different
. I do think the WDW is definitely a better destination vacation. Thanks for all of the great advice from here! BTW, my family was most impressed with my daring move of taking the empty side of the lines (ie HM and Indy) Couldn't figure out why no one went on the other sides
