We stayed at the AKL for 5 nights last week - we were very blessed with the weather. It was much hotter here at home than in Florida where it was overcast and in the 80's for most of the week. We even had to buy sweatshirts for the evenings!
Loved watching the giraffes and zebras from our balcony and would definitely return to the AKL. We were disappointed the first few mornings when we didn't see any animals, then halfway through the trip figured out that they come to graze at dusk.
We tried the dining plan for the first time and enjoyed eating at some expensive new places that we hadn't tried before. The only drawback was the desserts on the plan - even the nicest places served sub-par desserts. We would have rather skipped it and gotten ice cream later! Half the places let us get smoothies or shakes and half didn't. Our family's favorites were the Coral Reef, LeCellier and Yak and Yeti.
What a great fun week we had. The only drawback was the tons of South American tourgroups - I have never seen anything like it in all my years of visiting Disney - is this a July thing? They were well-behaved but just the quantity and masses of them make the parks so much more crowded and hard to manuever.
