We just returned after 8 days at WDW. DS has allergies to dairy, egg, peanut, tree nut. DD allergic to just unbaked milk.
Table service at Tutto Italia, San Angel Inn, TRex, and Sci-Fi.
Tutto Italia
A manager came out to talk with me. He asked if kids would be eating off the kids menu. I said yes. The only thing available to them was spaghetti and marinara. No meatballs. For $10 a plate! At that point we were stuck so that's what we ordered, but DS was not happy. Also the kids meal is supposed to include the drink and I found out later that they charged me an additional $2.50 for DD lemonade. The good thing was that they could eat the bread. Also after I read the adult menu, I realized they likely could have had the chicken off the adult menu but the manager didn't even list that as a possibility so I had already ordered the spaghetti before I realized it. Service here was quick, but I won't eat here again (at least with allergic children).
San Angel Inn
Service was SLOW! Kids both had steak tacos which they both enjoyed. However, no topping at all, just meat on these tiny little tortilla shells. The adult meals were good here too. If not for the slow service I would eat here again.
TRex
By far the best meal of the trip. One kid had ribs, the other had spaghetti. This spaghetti came with 2 sides and I'm pretty sure it cost less than $10. They were a little slow to bring out the food but brought us some chips with con queso on the house with apologies.
Sci Fi
Both kids wanted a burger so I split an adult size between them. They were able to provide a wheat bun that was DF. Good experience here as well.
DH and DS went to Disney Quest for an afternoon. Unfortunately the folks here are not real educated as far as allergies. DH was able to view the ingredients list and they made him sign something. But we are pretty sure they served him an Udi's bun (not what DH said to serve him). With EGG! DS ate it and had a bellyache that night. I would avoid eating at Quest with any type of allergy. We can't prove it was the Udi's bun, but we are pretty sure.
We also ate at Pepper Market. Food was good here too. I talked with a chef to get chicken tenders and he said we could get those. I misunderstood and thought he was making some in the back. He meant the tenders at the station were already safe so I stood there and waited for awhile and he came back out and saw me and then we understood each other.
I could not figure out where to find safe ice cream at Epcot. The fountainview no longer has ice cream since it turned into a Starbucks.
We ate at a variety of quick service. All with good results. He mostly stuck to burgers, chicken tenders, and ribs. He did say the tenders at Columbia Harbor House were really good.
