Just a quick report for now: Spent a week at POFQ, returning home last night. Weather was absolutely beautiful -- low 70's the first 2 days, mid 80's most of the week, and upper 80's last two days. While there was some humidity, it was far lower than at home, where the weather has not been as pleasant. The first couple of days, we needed pants, sweatshirts, and jackets in the mornings and evenings. During the afternoons, we wore shorts and tee shirts. The rest of the week was all shorts and tee shirt weather. Kids were able to swim on even the two cooler days. Dh and I reserved our swimming for the warmer days. (BTW, the water parks were PACKED from mid-morning until mid-afternoon. Early morning and late afternoon was great!!)
Parks appeared more crowded than they were due to the large number of groups that tended to fill the walkways, often stopping in cluster to determine where to go next. (Arggghhhh!!!) Mornings and evenings, all but the most popular attractions were walk-ons. This past Saturday at MK was the busiest we experienced. Still, most waits were only 20 minutes. Space Mt. did go to 90 minutes but only for a brief half hour. After that, it went down to 40 minutes; but fast passes were still available.
POFQ was not nearly as crowded as I expected it to be. Many of the rooms in our building (#3) remained vacant until Saturday. We wanted to add on a day to our trip, but nearly all WDW rooms were booked. Evidently, there was a huge Postal Workers convention. Special buses were being run to all the on-site Disney resorts and several off-site hotels to shuttle these conventioneers. Wierd.
POFQ/POR buses, on the other hand, were quite crowded. Very few people got on at POFQ; but, by the 2nd or 3rd stop, we were packed in like sardines. This is the one thing I really disliked at POFQ/POR. It was no fun holding a 2 year old, keeping track of a standing 5 year old, and holding onto 2 strollers and a backpack on LONG bus rides. (The trip to MGM took 45 minutes each time we rode the bus!!) Also, there always were HUGE lines waiting to return to our resort. Leaving AK around 8 pm during evening EMH (The park was open until 9.), I had to hold a sleeping 2 year old in a line that was so long that we weren't able to board the first 2 buses that arrived and had to stand on the 3rd!!! The other resorts on that loading wing had fewer than 6 guests waiting at each stop.
All in all, we had a wonderful trip and can't wait to return in May!! I'll try to provide a more detailed trip report (with photos) by the weekend.
