FLIGHT: Just returned. Here is what we did: We are 2 adults, 1 child (9), we live 2 hours east of TO and flew Southwest from Buffalo. We saved about $900.00 dollars doing this. New Years Eve we had reservations at HI express but they told us that there would be a party in the hotel that night so we stayed at Homewood Suites and got a rate of 129.00, no park and fly rate due to NY eve, so thought I would have to pay to park, but they let me keep the car there anyway with no extra charge. Had free breakfast and they took us to airport when we wanted to go. On way home called and they came and got us right away and dropped us off at the car and gave detailed direction to bridge. Excellent romm and service, would stay there again for sure. Was great flight both ways, on time and got A boarding passes each way by going on-line 24 before. Another pro flying out of Buffalo was buying 2 - 1.14 litres of booze for $20.00 at Peace bridge duty free an not having to lug it on the plane.
ROOM: Stayed on rented points from DVC member at Old Key West in one bedroom condo, what a great place 2 tv's, full kitchen, full laundry and huge jacuzzi tub, the place was massive, wonderful. I really like not having maid service did not have to clean up before heading to the parks. We were at parks all day so did not use much of the facilities at the resort. If you rent points you pay about the same as a deluxe room in another resort hotel but you would only get a room with 2 beds and nothing else.
We rented a car from National and signed up for free emeral card so just had to go pick out a car at the airport, smooth. I purchased on-line entertainment book and used coupon for $20.00 off on the car.
Tickets: purchased through link mousesaver from ticketmania and bought hopper passess. Never used the hopper we went to different park each day and found we did not need this option. I could see if we went again we might.
Food: Went to Publix and bought breakfast stuff and munchies and water and ate every moring in the room.
Here are some places we ate:
Boma - different food and we enjoyed
Beirgenten (sp) Germany - Buffet enjoyed by all
Peco Bills- excellent counter service
Jungle Jims - offisite- coupon for free entree in Entertainment book 9 year liked they had computer at table - food was good
Bahama Breeze - offsite, food was good
Backlot express - good
Wolfgang Puck Express - Downtown Disney - great
Something Flames in animal K - good
We found portion size to be very large everywhere we ate and took leftovers back to condo and managed 2 more meals out of leftovers.
PARKS: We went to them all (4) and did all major headline rides and attractions in 6 days. We followed unofficial guide 2005 edition's touring plans and worked out great. Jan 2 - MGM - was very busy, but waited no later than 10-15 minutes for stuff, all the parks were busy as day went on, with mornings quite managable. We went to every park at opening or a bit before by 30 minutes followed the touring plans for one day touring adults and used fastpass when needed. Do not understand why people line up when 40-90 minutes wait times when you can come back and be on the ride in 5-10 minutes.
I have a southwest credit so gong to phone to see if I can get back to cc if not I guess I will try and sell credit or go somewhere, I will keep watching the DINGS.
Hope this report helps others. I highly recommend Unofficial Guide to WDW, excellent book.
