Got the free DDP in '10, '11, & now on our Nov/Dec 2012 trip for 6 nites. Each time we have found that we cannot eat that much food. Since we split the CS meals (too big for one of us), we always have a lot left over. We also can't eat the dessert for TS meals & we rarely eat a daily snack. So here's what we did rather than walk away with a lot of credits left on our account.

1. Breakfast - We shared a TS dessert or a snack. Our take-out snacks are always Magic Cookie Bars from POR & they are plenty big enough for 2 people. Some snacks were for ice cream.

2. Lunch - We usually shared a CS; once we each ate a whole CS. Some places we ate at are Pecos Bills, Cosmic Rays, POR pasta to order, Capn Cooks pulled pork, AoA pulled pork, Wilderness Lodge wilderness salad.

3. Dinner - We ate at single credit restaurants - all used.

Leftovers - We always schedule a 3-5 nite stay after the free DDP, either at an offsite hotel or at another Disney resort (free DDP not available Pop W. week & we like to switch to a different resort/hotel).
1. Snacks - We got all Magic Cookie Bars.
2. CS - We came prepared with flat bottom paper grocery bags & plastic containers from our Magic Cookie Bars. We got 5 turkey sandwiches, 5 bags chips, 5 waters, & 5 cupcakes from Starring Rolls. Usually they provide the containers, but they were out - that's why we used the Magic Cookie Bar containers.

For the 4 nites after DDP we enjoyed our leftovers. We ended up leaving a couple of turkey sandwiches for the housekeeper & packed the remaining Magic Cookie Bars. For a few days at home, we enjoyed our Disney leftover Magic Bars!

Happy Eating!

I'm sorry, I have to ask - why would you think that the housekeeper wants your leftovers? :confused3

Don't be sorry; ask away. We didn't assume the housekeeper would "want" the sandwiches. But we left them for her - eat, take home, give away, or throw away.

However, in the past when we have had frequent interaction with our housekeepers & have asked if leftovers are wanted, they have always said yes, & eagerly so. Now whether they were just being polite, or really wanted them, I don't know. But rather than throw away, let the maid decide.

Personally, we would never eat leftover food. But that's just us.

If we have things left over at the end of our trips, we always leave them in the room. In the past these have included: Bottled Water, Coke, Snacks from WDW unopened, unopened bottles of milk, batteries, UNO Cards. :lmao: They can take what they want, give away what they want, throw it out. :confused3 I don't care but it's not coming with me.

Great news about the Dining Plan. We're not big eaters either so the DDP usually doesn't work for us.
