Well OK I got back Friday but loads of :laundy::guilty:

Highs

Disney Dreams - absolutely amazing! (hope I can find a video on Youtube, as we saw it the first night (after a very long day) but just couldn't keep awake the other nights:sad1:) Parades also excellent:thumbsup2

Buffets at Plaza Gardens and Restaurant des Stars - huge variety of wonderful salads, hot dishes and amazing puddings! (pretty much the same offerings in each but I wasn't complaining;) )

Less busy than I'd anticipates - the weeked was fairly packed, but by using extra magic hours we did everything we wanted to except parachute drop (huge queue because the seats are in rows of three)

Pool at HNY - lovely jacuzzi and the sunbeds round the outdoor pool were lovely to catch a few rays during down time:cool2:

Happy Hour at King Ludwigs:rolleyes1 despite lack of staff (see below)
Using Brits Guide discount at Planet Hollywood and Shareholders discount everywhere else:goodvibes

Lows

Thought HNY a bit tired - same as when we were there in 2003 right down to the "fat" TV, no option for fridge instead of minibar, no option to make tea/coffee in the room and aircon not really working properly in the room.

Saving the planet - large number of people "economising" on hot water, soap and deodorant:scared: Can sort of understand at the end of the day but first thing - no thanks!!:crazy2:

Not enough staff at breakfast buffet and in bars (not that we could afford to go in the bars much at 7,90 for 50cl, but generally only one person - even for happy hour at King Ludwigs) - one morning there were over a dozen tables waiting to be cleared and a line of people waiting for spaces. Also slow to refil hot dishes as they emptied

Smoking - I expected it but shocking that CMs made no effort to say anything - even when right next to poeple just before a parade:mad:
++++++++

DH and I had some adult time visiting Newport bay and Sequoia Lodge on the last day, and thought we'd prefer one of those next time (although not for four of us if the rooms are a lot smaller:crowded:) - the SL bar was shut so we didn't try it, but both hotels had much larger and nicer shops than HNY:confused3 But after DLP we went to Roissy to an aparthotel so we could do Parc Asterix, and that was lovely - very spacious, clean, good aircon and a good kitchenette (with full size fridge) so we might consider the Val D'Europe Residhome another time.

Full TR may follow if I can get enough time on the PC - right now need to sort out the 300 photos:rolleyes:

Welcome back :wave2:

I am so looking forward to seeing this, everyone seems wowed by it. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping to do this round the NBC pool when we're there but now I've said it watch it rain cats and dogs every day of our stay! :lmao:

I thought you could request a kettle at the HNY? :confused3

Would love to read a trip report if you do find time (please please) :goodvibes

No good having a kettle without a fridge! I did ask for one but they had none available

Welcome back - sounds like a great trip. I agree, everyone still very happy with Dreams :thumbsup2

Love lazing round the pool too in the summer - great for taking time out :cool2:

Air con is one of the reasons we usually go for HNY, especially in summer, and is always perfect temp for us. Maybe faulty?

Hope you managed to get time for a trip report :goodvibes

Well after reading your comments i am glad i listened to my 9 year old son who wanted to stay in the Sequoia Over HNY. We have always stayed in the Sequoia and i fancied a change, he didn't and got his way :)

I think for us the tiredness of decor was emphasised in the Residhome we stayed at nex - 2 flatscreen TVs, full fridge and excellent aircon but only 165 euro for 2 nights for 4 of us:thumbsup2 It was still comfy, and the rooms are bigger than Sequoia lodge, but its definitely "adult" magic vibe.

Just remembered another low - woman in front of uus in the queue for Slinky picking nits out of her daughter's hair:scared::crazy2:

Trip report is now up if anyone wants to read it :)
