Sorry I'm little behind!
Day 2 Epcot
After a good night's sleep and a quick in-room breakfast, DD & I set our sights on Epcot. DH was still tired from the drive and he wanted to sleep in. We get to the busses around 8:30 and about 5 mins. later, ours shows up. At some point this morning we are supposed to meet up with our friends who are staying off site in a time share. We arrive close to 9:00 and wait for the opening. Our first stop is TT to get FP's. We then head back to the front to try and meet them. After a phone call we find out they're going to be late. We hang out and chill and watch the character bus arrive. We had a front row seat for the characters which was an "up-side" to our waiting game. Our friends finally arrive and we all head to Spaceship Earth. We walked on and enjoyed a rest before a "marathon" Epcot day.
It was time for our FP's. DD & I were hoping that the friends could get on the same time as us, as single riders. This was not to be. The stand by line was already an hour and single riders were 25 mins. DD & I ride and meet with them later at innoventions. By now it's pushing 11 and most of our group wanted to concentrate on the countries. Before that though, our so-called mature, grown up 13 yr olds have to play in the fountain!! There they were, right along side the toddlers getting soaked. At first I was a little miffed, but then thought, oh what the heck. They (and us) were laughing so hard at their own absurdity. It was "Magical Disney Moment #1" for us. We were able to forget about rushing and enjoy the moment.
Next stop, Mexico for a little shopping and the River Ride. I dont know why, but I just love this ride. It's just so hokey and cute and sort of filled the "It's a Small World" void. Norway was next with Maelstrom and shopping (see the pattern here!?!). On to China (more shopping!), then realizing we were starved, we headed to good ole' USA for some burgers and dogs. Our timing was perfect since it was drizzling a little. After lunch, we were just in time for the Fife and drums. This was marvelous as always. The best part (Magical Disney Moment #2) was the end when one of the band yelled "AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!" the crowd roared and we were on our way to...
Japan and the drummers. I love these guys (and gals). We got some great pics and yes, more browsing in the stores. DFW is a scrapbooker and she needed a pic of Jasmine so it was off to Moroco. Jas was no where to be found, but that's OK, there was still plenty of shopping to do.
Then we were off to France. OH BOY. JJsmom (me) found herself smack-dab in the middle of the the acrobats/mime street show. I was one of the ones who had to sit in a chair (you had to be there to understand it all). This is the 1st time I've ever been chosen to participate and boy was I embarrased. DF's took tons of pics between their bouts of laughter (at me). Well I thought that would never end, but it was kind of fun.
UK was next. I love strolling through this area! Then on to Canada to see... my favorite... oh gosh... OFF KILTER!! They were terrific as always. DFW and I were dancing and carrying on like fools (it's our goal to completely embarrass our kids). I hated to see end the show, but, it was time to move on.
Back to Future World to hit HISTA and the Figment Ride. They were great as always. We decide to try MS and head in that direction. The wait sign said "30mins". No way. After 30 mins, we were only 1/2 way through and the announcement said that there would be a delay. It was getting late, and we had 7:00 ressies at Charley's Steak House; so we had to get a move on.
Tomorrow: Magic Kingdom!!!
