Just back, Halloween party was great

Just returned home after a 6 day stay. We have been going at this time for the last 4 years and I have to say it was much more crowded than in the past. We went to the first halloween party last Friday and we all thought there were way more people than last year when we also attended the first one. Normally at the parties we stand behind the castle for the fireworks, this year because of the new show we decided to be on main street. Never again. We were off to the side a bit and for us the trees seem to block some of the fireworks. After the fireworks we were going to head to haunted mansion so that meant trying to walk to the other side of main street. Well that was crazy because all of sudden people would stop walking and stand there for a show. Um no people you have to keep moving. Two negatives to this year's party was that the fireworks and 2nd parade both ran 5 to 10 minutes later than what was stated. By the time the 2nd parade was over due to the lateness and extra floats it was 11:50. So much for seeing a character before closing like we did last year. Other than that we had a great time that night. Overall we had a great trip with lots of laughs.

This is my favorite event at Disney. We did it in September last year and must have picked a good night. The lines for the rides were pretty non-exsistant and we got a great spot on Main Street for the parade.

I haven't seen the new show yet but I agree with you about the chaos around the castle when it comes to HEA. Just saw that in June and I feel the same way - never again. Too many people and too much drama . We'll watch the fireworks from Fantasyland and be done with it in the future.
