We just got back yesterday afternoon after a wonderful week at WDW. We stayed at BLT, in a 1 BR and loved it. Crowds were great- we never waited more than 20 mins for a ride, but did have to wait 45 mins to see the Fairies. No real rain to speak of, but the heat--ouch!!! I would be happy to answer any questions...hoping to get a trip report started this week :)

I'm going to move this to our trip report board.

I was hoping you would mention the crowds so thanks for doing that. We went the first week in May and found it to be quite busy (although we went the first week in May in 2008 and our longest wait was 10 mins if there was a wait) so now I am trying to decide when to go next year. We would like to go sometime between the last week in April and the last week in May. I noticed you are a Dis veteran, any advice?

What view did you get at BLT? I can't wait to read all about your trip!

We had a BL view and we were dead center in the middle of the building on the 14th floor. We were also chosen as family of the day at check in (what a surprise) and we had access to the 12th floor club level (at the CR) all week:banana: It was great to have the best of both worlds--club level ammenities, and a 1 BR at BLT. We loved the view. I was hoping for a partial MK view, but with the pixie dust we got at checkin, I didnt want to push it and ask for another room.

We thougth the crowds were kind of crazy at times throughout the parks, but the line wait times were not bad. We grabbed fast passes in the am, and saved them for later. If there was a 30 min wait time, we didnt wait. Mostly we saw about 20 mins (except for Soarin, TT, TSM, and Space Mtn). During the middle of the day I believe I saw some 40 min at BTMRR and 30 for Splash. We didnt even need our fast passes in the evenings on some days as the standby like was a walk on too. Soarin had 55 min waits and TT was 50 mins. On our AK day, (Fri) we rode EE 3 times in a row about 20 mins before closing. We just walked right on and got off and headed to the line again--no wait. We could have ridden it a 4th time, but my stomach couldnt take it.
I followed TGM's advice for best parks and found it to be pretty accurate. On our arrival day (Sat the 15th) and our departure day (Sat the 22nd) the MK was crazy busy. We didnt get much done, but werent in the parks long as we were arriving and leaving those days. They were yellow TGM days, but the rest of our days were green and lovely. I would think that this week would be much crazier since Memorial day is at the weekend. I would probably go the first week in May.

I guess i will have to learn what this TGM thing is. Maybe knowing that would have made a difference. Every time I plan a trip I learn something new so by the time we have gone 5x as a family i should have the perfect trip, right?
Thanks!

I learn something new everytime we go:)
Anyway, Tour Guide Mike is something I have used on my past 3 trips. He has lots of information on his site and I love his recommended parks. He lists them as green, yellow and red and tells you why he thinks you should go to a particular park. I believe there is a link to get a discount at the top of the disboards, and then if you renew later you get more of a discount. Good luck planing your trip!

Oh, that is what it is. OK, thanks. I may try that with my next trip!
