Our family just returned. We ate at the following TS locations. We liked all of them very much. Please let me know if I can answer any questions ...........

WCC - dinner
50s PT - lunch
Italy - dinner
Jiko - dinner
Coral Reef - lunch

Glad you had a great time. I have always wanted to eat at both 50s PT (but don't really want the kitsch, just want the food) and Coral Reef (but afraid of the cost).

So can you "turn down" the kitsch at 50s?

And how were the lunch prices at Coral Reef? Worth the cost or just an expensive Red Lobster?

Thanks.

My family loved WCC- the atmosphere and food were great, glad you enjoyed it too.:goodvibes

Our server at 50s PT was not very interactive at all. She made a couple of silly comments and that was all. She was very efficient and seemed more concerned with doing a good job keeping the diners' food and drinks coming than "playing" with everyone. We were okay with that. I would advise that you tell the hostess when you check in that you do not want a lot of interaction and I think they will seat you accordingly.

As far as Coral Reef........I do think it is expensive, even for lunch. We have been going to WDW for years and I promised my family a couple of surprises and this was one of them. My DH had the crab legs and really liked them. I had the risotto as I wasn't in the mood for seafood. It was good - not great -but good. Both kids got the lobster salad. I think they each thought they should have gotten the crab legs after tasting Dad's! The chocolate wave dessert was very good. All portions were moderate size.

The atmosphere was beautiful as we were near the tank. The service was the slowest of any of the TS we went to this trip. All in all, I think for us Coral Reef is a "hope to do again but not every trip" kind of place.

Hope this helps!

I thought the pulled pork at WCC was the best I've ever had. That and the potatoes were excellent!!

Tell me about your dinner at Italy please

AHHH, Italy. This was a wonderful dining experience. Our server, Roberto, was so, well, Italian. In addition to being incredibly good looking, he had a great accent and spoke Italian intermittently. (Yes, he was also good at his job!)

The food was excellent. We had the sampler appetizer - very good. 3 of us had the veal raviolli - excellent. DS had a steak and said it was very good. For dessert we had the profiteroles with chocolate sauce. Excellent!

The atmosphere was very nice, the decor pretty. Our only concern was the tables are very close together. We had an early dinner and only waited a few minutes for a table. Our courses were served at a nice rate. When we left the restaurant, it was very crowded in the waiting area. I think people were having to wait a bit to be seated.

We very much hope to get back to "Italy" to eat again!! ;)

We just got back, too, and also had great meals at WWC and Prime Time. I thought WCC was better than last time we were there -- couldn't believe the potatoes! You need to come to North Carolina, though, if that was the best pulled pork (we call it "barbecue") you've ever eaten -- I would rate the WCC version a B, which is a good grade from me on out-of-state barbecue!

I actually just changed one of our reservations for late January from Teppan Edo to Coral Reef. It wasn't that I thought that Teppan Edo would be bad, but we do go to Benihana some, and my husband and mother-in-law are not the most adventurous eaters. I also thought that the fish tank would be at least as entertaining as the chef at the table.

I also add Sci Fi Dine in for lunch...hubby and I ate there years ago, and thought the kids (8,5, and 3) would enjoy the atmosphere.

50's PTC will be closed when we are there, so that wasn't an option anyway.

Glad to see it isn't to bad! I've been a bit worried about the pulled pork because we can get such good stuff around here ;)

I agree with you on the pulled pork, NC is much better. In fact we are almost neighbors. I am from Kannapolis.

How was Jiko? We are thinking about going here on our next trip and I worried that it might not be all that good.

One vote for the Carolina BBQ. I do like the WCC pulled pork but ya gotta try the BBQ in the Outer Banks. There are even some great places in Virginia Beach. I would love to have some of the WCC pulled pork right now though.

I am interested in Jiko as well. Is this a place that a skeptical husband might find something that he likes as well

Glad you enjoyed you dinners. I'm curious how you liked Jiko. It along with California Grill are our two favorite places to dine at WDW.

Our dinner at Jiko. We had dinner there Christmas night. This was our second time dining at Jiko. The restaurant is so beautiful. We were seated in the wine room. They house the largest collection of African wines in the US. It was elegant.

For appetizers, DH had the sampler. I don't think it was the one on the menu. It was a sampler of 4 appetizers on the left side of the appetizer menu. I'm sorry I don't have more info on what all it had. He thought it was fantastic. I had the artichoke flatbread. It was so good.

Because we had been to Jiko before, we knew selecting the entrees would be tough. There are so many great choices!!! We decided to go with our 3 favorites from the previous time we ate there - the filet, the short ribs, and the halibut (2 of us got that). Well, they are still outstanding. I think that fish dish may be my favorite anywhere. The combination of flavors!

For dessert 2 had the chocolate cheesecake - yummy - I had the year of a million dreams mousse/cake - good. DS had the pistachio creme brulee. If I could order again now - wish, wish, - I would get the creme brulee. I'm not that big of a brulee fan but that was really superb.

Our server was very efficient and friendly. Jiko is either my #1 or #2 favorite WDW restaurant.

Any other questions? It's fun remembering our meals. :)

I booked Jiko for my upcoming trip, thanks for the review :) I always hear great things bout Jiko

I fully agree with the dessert choice at Jiko...I'd make a trip back just to have the pistachio creme brulee again!

Jiko has been my favorite restaurant on WDW property for a while now. The flatbread appetizers are amazing, and what they can do with a filet mignon on mac-n-cheese...mmmm. The wine selection is second to none. Service....mmm, a little hot and cold. Atmosphere...so nice, romantic, even.

Had a great meal at Italy in early Dec.

So glad you had a great time. We're going in Feb and just changed our Valentine's Day Chefs ressie to Tutto Italia. From what I've read, I think we'll be glad we did! Sounds wonderful. Thanks for the reviews.
