I've not seen this posted, but you should pack a couple of sweaters, not light ones, warm ones. The hallways on the ship and every activity we went to was freezing! I only packed one lightish sweater, and wore it everyday. Once we got to our room and out on the verandah, it was beautiful, (or any deck for that matter). But the ship itself, very, very cold, I was so surprised to be cold, never expected it.

On the other hand, the ship is beautiful, the staff is so happy and helpful, we had a great time.

Castaway Cay is just incredible. To bad they don't switch the 4 night cruise to 2 stops there and leave out Nassau.

My DH says it would be awesome if they built a DVC out there! We just loved our day at that beach.

Any questions, I'd be happy to answer them if I can.

I tell my DH all the time that I wold gladly sail with Disney for a Castaway Cay ONLY cruise. As many times as they want to stop! Stay over night. Whatever!
Go to CC. Back out to see a day or 2. Back to CC. Back out to sea...That is my idea of an AWESOME cruise-LOl

I remember FREEZING my tooshie off when we cruised in February. I begged and begged my husband for a DCL sweatshirt because I was so cold!

I think it's all one big scheme by DCL to sell sweatshirts!:lmao::rotfl::laughing:

I know when we were on the Magic we needed, at the very least, a light sweater in the dining room. I didn't notice it much in the hallways but sometimes during the shows or in the movie theater I did. You are right. Always pack something warm, you just never know when the inside will be cooler than the outside.

Quick Question for the original poster. How was the food on the Wonder?? I heard teh menus changed recently and people have been complaining about it. What did you think?? Also did you see any sushi or lobster on board? Heard they got rid of those.
thanks

I TOTALLY agree with the op.....inside the ship is FREEZING!!! I have said that each time we have cruised. Hallways, dining rooms, theater anyplace inside is allways way too cold for me. I am not a big fan of Air conditioning anyway and theirs works overtime.

I live in Pennsylvania and can never understand even up here why people complaine about the winter months and being cold then as soon as it gets warm outside they blast the AC and you are still freezing!!!!

Ok that is my mini rant on AC I hate it everyware, I go on a cruise to be warm so I try and stay outside as much as I can....LOL

What dates were you on the cruise? Was it from 4/19 - 4/23?

How was the water at CC? I am hoping that it is starting to warm up - I've heard that the water has been chilly based on the recent TR I've been reading.

Thanks for Sharing!

Hi,

We have never cruised, so I have nothing to compare the food to. I will say the lobster I saw was limited to "lobster Mac and Cheese". We didn't order it, so I can't speak to the quality of it. I know we saw a menu in the Passporter that included Bacon Wrapped Filet, but when we got to that restaurant, it was not on the menu.

That being said, we liked everything we had. The appetizers were good, the salads were good, I had one steak that was of questionable quality, but all ini all, I didn't have to plan it, cook it or clean up after it, so how bad could it be ;)

I was on the 4-day Wonder on April 5 and I thought most of the food was fine. I've seen horrible food reports, but I think with the new menus, and the lousy economy, you are going to get that from folks. I had the Lobster mac and cheese at Tritons and I was a bit disappointed - it had too much sage in it and that overpowered the dish but there was plenty of lobster in it for me (I've read some reviews stating there was barely any - but you're not going to get an entire lobster in there!). But all the appetizers I had were great, the short ribs at Animator's Palette were fantastic, and of course, Palo was perfect. The only other "bad" meal I had was one questionable rib eye steak at Parrot Cay - bad cut of meat I think. All the buffets were fine, they did have sushi, and they also had crab claws and shrimp.

I would like to know how the water was at CC as well, we're going April 25th of 2010 and I'm hoping it's warm enough to snorkel.......:scratchin

I only went in to my knees, and it felt chilly at first, but as the day warmed up, so did the water it seemed. My kids, 10 and 7 both said the water was great, they didn't think it was at all chilly.

Once you are in for a few minutes, it felt quite nice, even if only to the knees!
