We just returned tonight from WDW after staying for one night at the YC and four nights at the BCV. Here are my thoughts:

Yacht Club: This is truly a remarkable resort. Great service, beautiful decor, love the place. We had room 2009 and I think it was one of the best water views there are. It was a corner room which was unbelieveable! It faced the lake and the Boardwalk...the view was just breathtaking. Having a corner room sure made the room seem bigger too! Everything about this resort is upscale and top of the line. It was comparable to Boardwalk (which is my fave resort) but I think YC a bit more upscale. I would definitely return here.

Beach Club Villas: This is my home resort for DVC. I bought site unseen and what a great decision. I still miss the ambiance of the Boardwalk...I love it over there. But the bottom line is that the BCV rooms have the best decor and furnishings that all of DVC has to offer. My parents were just appalled at how nice the 2BR unit was and quite honestly so was I. The lounge areas were gorgeous and I was impressed....there isn't as much theming at BCV but that's ok.

Stormalong Bay: WOW!! There weren't many people there when we were and that worked out nicely! We sure enjoyed using that pool!

Glad you had such a nice trip! What area did you stay at in the BCV? I hope to avoid the road/front drive view. Is it worth it to work hard at requests to do this, or is any view OK?

We're staying at teh YC in May and I just wondered was your corner room a King room?

Thanks

Oh how silly of me, I failed to mention the most important part of our BCV room....THE VIEW!!! We had a beautiful view of Epcot and Illuminations on the 4th floor. However, from what I understand, all Epcot/Illumination views also have a view of the road and canal. If there are any that do not they are few and far between. We enjoyed our view very much, but we could hear the cars going by, so I guess you have to choose what is more important.

Our YC room was not a king room, it had 2 queens and a daybed. It was a very large room in my opinion and with the extra windows it sure seemed bigger!

I knew you'd love the YC. ;) Isn't it the best! :)

I'm excited to try BCV's... I hope we can get that awesome view you guys had. ;)

Glad to hear you had a great time!

Was your room at the Yacht Club close to the Stormalong bay? We're going there this summer and I would like to request a room that isn't a far walk from it but that also has a view of the lake(we booked a water view), can you help with any ideas?

Thank you very much!

No, our room really wasn't close to SAB. But then again I didn't think it was far either. I don't mind walking if it means I have a killer view. You could always request a room close to SAB but I'm not sure what your chances would be of also getting a Lake view too.

Did you pay the extra $$ for the view, or was it unexpected? Sounds like a GREAT vacation, glad you had fun!:bounce:

No, we paid for the view at the YC, but it was worth the extra money if you ask me. The prices (points) for BCV are all the same so its just luck of the draw.
