We just returned from a great five days at Y & BC. If I can help anyone who has questions, I'd be glad to. (We got a lot of help from people here before we left maybe I can return the favor.)

I will be going with my family immediately after Mem Day to the BC with kids 10 and 5. Is there a more desirable standard room/location? How were the crowds? Should we try to go early into the early park, or go to the "opposite" park? Did you use the concierge service? Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

rpm,
We didn't stay at the Beach Club (we were at YC and the views are completely different.) Here's a link, though, to the floor plans for Yacht Club. You can get a really good idea of what rooms look out over what areas and plan for the side of the building you'd prefer (or better yet, the areas you DON"T want your room to be in.) As for the crowds, we found them moderate but manageable, especially if you plan ahead a little and use fastpass. Finallly, my recommendation re: early entry days is - if you are going to be there really early and make use of the full first hour, then it's great. We usually do that and then move to another park when the EE park starts to get crowded. But if you aren't going to be there right as it opens for EE, then don't bother - go to another park that day. Hope this helps. Have a great time.

We're staying at YC next month, and I too was wondering about EE days. I've seen conflicting advice on whether to use them or aviod them. What time did you need to leave your room at YC to get there "really early"? Thanks.

jdaa1,
We seem to be 'following' each other (see my other post on SAB thread.) ;) We did EE day at AK. We left the hotel at 7:00 - thinking we'd have to wait for the bus and stops along the way. We were lucky and the bus came within minutes. Then, it only made one stop on the way to AK so were were there by about
7:20 !! It turned out well, though, because there were characters outside AK (Rafiki, Timon, Jane, Meeko and other AK folks) so we got lots of photos and autographs. It was wonderful to have the park so empty that early. However, it got really crowded later and we hopped over to a non-EE park. Hope this helps.

Hi there -

How was the bus transportation to the parks? I am worried about multiple hotel stops and it taking forever.

Hi! Glad to hear you had a great trip!

We're staying at the YC this August, what kind of view did you have? How did you like the pool? Were you able to find a seat?

Thanks!! :)

We'll be there in December...very much looking forward to it!

Any feedback regarding Stormalong Bay that you could offer?

To Walt's Assistant and Palmtree girl and <<..>> ,
Here's a copy of something I posted earlier today about the pool at Y & BC. Most days, we were pleasantly surprised the SAB was not too bad....... after reading here, I was prepared for the worst. There was room to move around the pool without 'crashing' into anyone and, in fact, there was a beach volleyball game being run by the lifeguards one afternoon. We were able to find chairs everyday.
One day, it did reach 95 degrees and SAB got pretty crowded. We just hopped over to the quiet pool on the other side of the building and practically had the pool to ourselves.
As for the view, ours was called a "garden view." And we had no problem with the buses. We really didn't have to take them that often. We walked to Epcot and MGM easily. The bus to AK was quick only one or two stops (sometimes Swan/Dolphin) sometimes not. The bus to MK was also quick - the morning that we took it the bus was a non-stop to MK. Hope you all have fun.

swanmom....
did you request a "garden view" room....
or was that what they gave you when you checked in....
we too are staying at the Yacht Club in August...and would prefer a view of the garden or grounds rather then the parking lot...

Any help would be great!

I was just wondering which rooms you can see the fireworks from? Can you see spaceship earth from any of them? I was noticing in some of the pictures the bed headboards look small- are the queen size beds a standard queen size?- just wondering... Thanks

The queen size beds are regular queens... maybe the photos distort them. As for views, we couldn't see the fireworks but there's a nice link to floor plans for each of the resorts which might help you.

Scroll down - just under the heading 2002 Room Rates are the floor plans.

Good luck!
