DH and I just returned from Wilderness Lodge and wish we were still there! Our stay was just perfect. It was our 10th anniversary, so they upgraded us to a woods view room. We were very excited since we were only paying $108 a night for a standard view. I didn't think they would upgrade us at that rate, but it never hurts to ask. Pixie dust must have been all around! I would stay at WL again in a heartbeat! It was so beautiful. I think I liked it better that GF, I think! The location is great. Boat ride to Magic Kingdom is so convenient. Our room was very nice, on the fifth floor, and they turned down our beds every night, and placed chocolates on our pillows. I could get used to that! The ambiance is so great, with all the western type music in the lobby! You can't help looking up when you are in there.
One thing we did that I highly recommend is to take the Resort tour. It is offered free, Wed-Sat, (I think), and it takes about 45 minutes. Our tour guide was named Stan, and he was the high light of our trip. He was the sweetest cutest guy ever! He explained all about the history of the lodge and how it was built, etc. All I can say is, do this tour, and make sure you ask for Stan. He was great.

sounds like you had a great time .. I am still trying to decide on the WL ( for my mom ) or Coronado ( cool pool slide for kids ) Thanks for you report.. Michelle

Ranger Stan is a wonderful part of WL. We always make a point of saying hello to him and asking him about his wife and mother-in-law. He is indeed a very sweet man. If you look on the WDW site and open the WL page, they show a picture of him in front of WL.

Hi,Steamboat Girlie,

This is the information they will need for tour:

Are tours of Disney's Wilderness Lodge available?
A unique tour, called the "Wonders of the Lodge," is offered to guest on various days beginning at 9:00a.m. This guided tour provides an informative look at the history of Disney's Wilderness Lodge, including its distinctive construction, theming and artwork. Please call the Front Desk for the schedule of the tour days and availability. (Guest should meet in the Lobby of Wilderness Lodge.)

We just got back too. guess we passed each other. We were at the Lodge 1/30-2/6. We had a woods room reserved for $109 a night and was surprised with an upgrade to a courtyard view room, 4th floor. We could watch the ELP from our beds as we looked out on the lagoon. We ate at WC almost every morning. We should've done the WL tour, but the trip goes by so quickly and there is never enough time. We found the CMs especially friendly. (our 3rd trip to the WL). We have ressies to go back to WL in July this year and will be celebrating our 15th anniversary.

Hi - Thanks for posting your reviews. Did either of you have a view of the MK? I think I read of people who can see the MK & Wishes from their rooms. If so, do you know if that is Courtyard or Woods view? thanks

Happy Anniversary! Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Thank you for posting!:)

we just got back on Friday...Glad you loved my "home"
