We just got back last night and we had a great time except for a few things out of anyone's control, but I digress. The parks seemed to be pretty crowded IMO. We took advantage of the am EMH's at MK and AK. It worked out great!! We did almost everything at MK and were out by noon with little or no waits (less than 20 min). We didn't have much we wanted to do this trip at AK so we were out by 10am. We spent alot of time at Epcot this trip as we went to see some of the Flower Power concerts. Gary US Bonds was great! He also came out after the show and signed autographs and took pictures with the fans. He was very nice. We also got to ride Soarin' and it was AWESOME! It seemed to be open every day. Also, the Garden Grill was open for dinner and yesterday they were training the staff in the food court. The food smelled so good. I wish they were open so we could eat there. I can't think of anything else so, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Sounds like you had a great trip.Thank you for sharing. :goodvibes :wave2:

We just got back last night, too! We had a great time, so sad to be back home and to "reality."

The longest line we waited in was 35 minutes the whole trip (for Great Movie Ride at MGM, why I don't know!), and we used FastPass any way we could. The crowds appeared to me like crowds I used to see in mid-July - a lot of folks were on their break from the Northeast, just like these boards predicted! We did EMH in the a.m. for all 4 parks, and only did evening EMH at the MK. Morning EMH is still the way to go, IMO. The evening EMH at MK became "worth it" around 11:30 (times were from 10 p.m. - 1 a.m.). By midnight, we were able to walk on to anything in Fantasyland. Space Mountain was the only attraction offering FastPass during that evening EMH.

Soarin' was AWESOME - the 1st row is the best, IMO. We did it during the AP preview, but then caught it again late one day on a whim, and walked right on. Other times, saw waits posted of 50+ (Friday evening was 80 minutes!), and it doesn't appear that they've started using FP on it yet.

We did experience huge crowd control issues on Wednesday evening at the MK between SpectroMagic and Wishes. People were literally standing on the streets/sidewalks of Main Street and into Tomorrowland not moving (mostly it seemed due to people stacking up 4-5 of those double strollers across a path). One woman near us began having a panic attack - wasn't pretty. We finally wormed our way out of the pack, but I've never experienced that before. There were a few CM's around, but it didn't appear that they could/would do anything to keep traffic flowing.

We just returned last night also. Wish we were still there!

Soarin' was awesome. They are taking FP now. The wait times for standby were not accruate at all. In fact, our first time the sign said 90 minutes, and we thought, what the heck, we haven't been on it yet, let's wait, and we were on the ride within 15 minutes! The new food court looks great.

The evening EMH is terrific. At MK, we were able to walk right on or wait less than 10 minutes, for BTMRR, PoTC, HM, IASM and Splash Mountain.

We had a great time!

Did you find you needed any long pants? Sweatshirts? Jackets? etc... I am in the middle of packing and would love some input. :teeth: Right now I have one pair of jeans and one sweatshirts packed for each of us and no jackets (except our ponchos). Does that sound OK? :)

We were in shorts all day, but some nights changed to pants. I carried a sweatshirt, but never used it, while DW used her sweatshirt. Sounds like you are packing perfectly. Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks!!! :) We are so excited I can't even tell you!!! :cool1: This is our first trip without telling our kids... we're going to tell them Friday morning when they wake up!!! :teeth: :goodvibes I can't wait to catch their reactions on video!!! :earsboy: :earsboy:

The weather was up and down all last week (I think it was supposed to only be a high of 70 today, with lows in the 40's), but I bet it will begin getting more seasonal as the days go by. Our 1st 2 days (and nights, especially) we layered clothing. As I told DH, I never thought I would wear a sweatshirt in April at the World! I was lucky in that I packed a few things - we had to buy DH a windbreaker while we were there - and he never gets cold.

But, then towards the end of the week it was in the mid-80's, and it was shorts and tees all they way!

Hope your kids act as excited as ours did last year when we surprised them. We also caught in on video. I could watch that everyday; it was so cute!

We just got back yesterday too. We surprised our 4yo DS in the airport. We told him we were visiting our friends Don, Mick, Pete, Wendy, etc. I told him I had a map of my friends' houses and gave him a map of WDW. His response was straight out of Kim Possible...He became very serious and said, "You two are sick and you are wrong. Why didn't you tell me?" My wife and I laughed so hard - I knew he wouldn't want to be surprised. We had an amazing trip though! We discovered that the Polynesian is the best WDW resort EVER! I plan to file a full trip report this week!

:cool1:

I'm old enough to remember Gary U.S. Bonds and his big song "Quarter To Three". Would have loved to have seen him. Who else did they have at the flower power concert(s)?

Add us to the list of folks who are leaving Friday (4/29) and surprising the kids. I am absolutely about to bust because I can't wait to tell them.

We're going the same time and I haven't packed jeans & sweatshirts. I guess we should at least bring one of each. I do plan on bringing a light jacket for the evenings. I checked the weather the past two days. Yesterday it was mid 80's/mid 60's, 10-20% rain. Today the mid 80's went up to high 80's, but there is more rain in the forecast. (I guess it really is too early to tell!)

We were there one April (@ 4/14) and froze! It was cold and wet :umbrella: . We definitely weren't prepared for that.

Enjoy surprising your children. We did that one yr. w/ DD. We woke her up at 4:00 a.m. on Easter morning and told her we were going to Disney World. It was great! (She's 16 now - time flies! :hourglass )

Have a great trip!!! :flower:

My DH loves Gary because he had an album in the 80's written by Bruce Springsteen and another member of the E-Street Band. (Bruce is DH's absolute fav) He did sing "Quarter to Three". We thought he was really great and he was nice enough to come out after the show and sign autographs and take pics. He was really nice and took a pic with DH! He was soooo thrilled. The other group that was there this weekend was Paul Revere and the Raiders although we did not go to see them.
