We just got back from 7 nights in a beach cottage at vero, and it was absolutely wonderful. This was our first trip to vero, and we couldn't be more pleased. The pool and slide were great fun for our 3.5 y.o. DD. So were the kid's program activities. The beach was also very nice (although paying for the chairs and umbrella every day was weak). All in all it was a great experience. We will definately go back!

Thanks to everyone who answered my pre-trip questions.

If anyone has any questions of their own I'll do my best to answer them for you.

We are heading to VB this June. My in-laws will be meeting us there (they live a few hours away).

Should we suggest they pack beach chairs for all of us to use????? What was the cost to rent chairs?

We can't wait! I am sure it will be a wonderful trip.

Thanks,
Karen

We also just got back from Vero. We spent 6 nights in the Inn. I believe the cost for beach chairs is $6 per day each, then umbrellas and cabanas are extra again.

I'm not sure what the breakdown was for each, but it was $29 to rent a set (2 chairs and an umbrella). All were high quality, and with the wind I wouldn't want to use any umbrella other that the one they supplied. Also, the sun is quite strong at that beach and there is no natural shade, so an umbrella was a must for us. As for the chairs, bring your own if at all possible. If you do opt to rent, you get the set until 6 pm (although we were at the pool at 5 one day and they took our stuff away while we were gone).

Hope this helps.

One year we went to Walmart and bought beach chairs, used them through the week, and gave them to someone as we left. We also used two umbrellas we got from odd lots for $6 which did fine on the beach. For about one days rental we had a set up for all week.

Careful leaving your stuff, though. We had a children's beach chair taken from us that was left on a table at the pool while we were away for a few minutes. Kind of surprising that people who can afford DVC would need to take things, but that's what happenned.
