My 14 y/o and I went to the YMCA this morning for a workout. She is so mean! First we had to do 5 minutes on the elliptical (sp) machine to warm up. Not too bad, kind of nice actually.

Well, then she takes me over the weight machines. She is making me do all of these machines, working every part of my body--parts that I forgot about! And if that is not bad enough, she says things like, "Gee, Mom. I can do 50 pounds on that machine. You are only doing 30 pounds, let's add some more weight on and you can do another rep."

I went though all of the machines and thought, "O! That's over." Nope, next she makes ride the bike for 10 minutes (that would be 3.65 miles) for a cool down exercise.

And if all of that wasn't bad enough, she takes me over the mats and has me do Yoga stretches at the very end.

I tell you, the child is evil! Anyone want to borrow her?:D :D

Glad to hear she is keeping you motivated. :D

I could use someone like her now.:Pinkbounc

Yeah, I told her she may have found her calling--personal trainer!

You are such a good mom to involve you child in a healthy lifestyle! :) I am going with my DS right after school today. (our Y is literally next door to his school, which is so very nice!) I'm sure he'll give me the business, too, but I am actually in better shape than he is. Good for the both of you. Children are the best motivators!

Keep the Faith!

I don't know- she sounds like a TYRANT to me! I guess you'd better keep her around . :p

I need her at my house.

How great that your daughter wants to help you with your workout. So, she enjoys it a little too much, she's still helping you.

You are very lucky to have her, she sounds like she knows her workout stuff :)

I'm proud of you for listening to your "personal" trainer and working out today :)

That is great that you have someone to motivate you like that! :) What a wonderful daughter she must be! :) Good for you on your great workout! :)

We share a big house with my in-laws. My FIL has been told that he must lose 50 pounds to avoid his third back surgery. My DD is on him all the time! “Grandpa, you had a second helping at dinner, you cannot eat that snack.” “Grandpa! What are you doing? Do you know how many calories and how much fat is in that gravy? You do not need any more!” She actually hides the snack food so only her brother and her can find it.

FIL calls her the Diet Gestapo. He does understand he is only looking out for her best interest—but it still fun to watch!

PS- I did point out to her that the chocolate syrup that that she squirts into her milk by the gallon has 100 calories per serving! HA! But, as long as she is drinking milk, I suppose I should let her do it.

The Diet Gestapo!?!!? That's just too funny! Aren't you lucky that your FIL takes it all with a grain of salt, and not a squirt of chocolte!!!! :teeth:
