I am happy to report that we jut had one of my MOST favorite of vacations to Disney World and our stay at the Wilderness Lodge was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took a ton of pictures- I actually couldnt stop snapping away the place was just that beautiful. It was relaxing. Peaceful. Beautiful. Everything I had hoped for and more!!!! :cloud9: (I will post the pics tonight if I can get them all uploaded)

Glad you had a great time. The WL is one of our favorite resorts....the surroundings are beautiful and we love the homey feel you get when you're sitting in the lobby or just walking through :goodvibes.

It's my favorite too .... It's how I got started on doing split stays. We had always wanted to try different resorts but couldn't bare the thought of not staying there. The one time we didnt stay there it was like something was missing from our trip.

Yay! We love WL too. How did you find the bus transportation. We always find it to be "hit or miss". It is one of the most beautiful resorts in WDW. That lobby......Oooooooolala! :cloud9:

I also returned from the WL. No complaints about buses. On Saturday, a cast member with a clipboard kindly asked about our destination, chatted for a few minutes, and then scribbled the time at which our Epcot bus arrived. It took no more than six or seven minutes by my watch. At the end of the afternoon, we just missed the WL bus from Epcot but waited only fifteen minutes for a second one.

No complaints about the boats either. We used the Contemporary as a way station quite often and waited no more than ten minutes. The best part: you don't share a boat with Ft Wilderness when traveling to the MK.

sounds wonderful~! We haven't ever stayed at WL, I want to....but I just haven't ever made ressie's there....Maybe because I live in Vermont, and that is what WL reminds me of, that rustic feel (we usually stay at OKW, SSR)! I guess I may have to plan a stay there. :rotfl: Can't wait to see your pics!

We did too on one of our stays we were the farthest room from the bus stop. 5th floor so I would get ready sit on the balconey & when I would see the boat from the CR head over we would just use the stairs & go right out the door by the dock sidewalk. but then I would hit the Coffee place at the CR & get my Joe for the morning. And catch a bus at CR. I love the boats.

Glad that you had such a great time at the WL! Look forward to seeing your pictures... thanks for the review!

We stayed at WL last September and loved it. The bus and boat transportation was excellent. I had heard horror stories about the buses, but it was great all week. Now, the monorails....:rolleyes1

Glad you had an awesome trip!:goodvibes

Oh I could just look at these pics all day!!!!:cloud9: I miss our new Disney Home!!!!

I have to say this is the ONLY time going to Disney that I didnt do any research and request a certain building or area..... and I got the most amazing room.... At night we could see the castle changing colors.

I woke up a little early and the rest of my family wanted to sleep in a little, so I grabbed my camera and headed down for a cup of coffee. I decided to give my mom a call and sat by the fire. Then I noticed the sun coming up and i went out on the deck and then walked around. I felt so safe and so relaxed. I should wake up everyday at disney like this!!

Awesome pictures!!!! :thumbsup2. I would imagine you were woods view? Do you remember what room number? We are booked for woods view bunk bed room overlooking otter pond as that is apparently the best shot at seeing castle and wishes...

Thanks! When they are enlarged with photobucked they look a little blurry! Oh well- you get the idea.... it was BEAUTIFUL! I am sorry I cant remember our room but it was 3rd floor - not bunk beds and we had a pond right outside our balcony and the magic kingdom was right in front of us... we could also see the monorail! It was sooooooo cool- I was not expecting that at all! It is nothing like our view of the MK from the Poly but I didnt pay top dollar for a MK view here and wasnt expecting it, so to fall asleep to the changing colors of the castle was just so magical to me. I even slept with the curtains open because I wanted to wake up to the castle!!

Where you have stayed at both Poly and WL, how would you compare the two??? I remain hopelessly conflicted between the two...

Well we are biased- we had a horrible stay at the Poly. Our AC didnt work...I had to call 3 times and then finally they came to fix at 11:00PM and my kids couldnt sleep.... still not fixed the next day- had to fight for a different room. But then they gave us an amazing room! The grounds are so pretty at the Poly- I LOVE Kona Cafe and Ohana. But, HANDS DOWN I would pick Wilderness Lodge. My kids are BIG jacuzzi kids and Poly doesnt have one. The Wilderness Lodge has 2!! Roaring Forks and Captain Cooks are both really small.... WL has Artist Point!!:lovestruc I LOVE the Boat to MK and CR. I think both places have outdated Rooms, but WL is getting a refurb! Poly seemed very busy... WL was very relaxing. Also, we had to walk 5 mins to get a cup of coffee at Poly and at WL we took the elevator down to the coffee! I love having everything in one building.... if it is cool- hot- rainy- it is SO nice to have that!! When we stayed at the POLY the Monorail broke down a million times... so I almost think busses are more convenient.

Well...that makes me more confident about being booked at WL....plus my DD7 is WAY more for the WL than the Poly and DD5 wants whatever big sis wants :thumbsup2. I think I may be in the minority here but I feel more comfortable with the busses...at least if those breakdown another one can be ordered in pretty quick...plus, the bus transportation is what we are used to at Disney, but I am looking forward to the boat to MK :goodvibes

Lovely pics! We adored WL too. It's just so peaceful.

Not sure if you stayed at CBR before, but we stayed at CBR (in Jamaica Building) in October and LOVED it!!!:goodvibes Their pools are sooooooo great!!!! If you have little ones, the kiddie area was so much fun. It also had a very relaxing feeling to the resort- just beautiful! We had 14 people with us of all ages, and everyone really enjoyed it.
