Had a wonderful, but short stay at the Poly for Christmas. The weather was not the greatest - cold with spots of rain - but the mood in the World was fantastic! Didn't meet a castmember who was out of sorts - everyone was happy! Our room was fabulous and just steps away from the Great Ceremonial House. Loved the Poly and look forward to going back! Candlelight Processional was good as always, althought they cut out some of the stuff at the end. Any questions, just ask away!

Glad to hear you had a great visit. We had glitches in our last two stays that dampened the experiences a little and I'm just starting to get excited about going again. Funny how that happens. But it is a special resort and I'm looking forward to returning in February.

How was the construction in the GCH?

What was left out of the CP?

Got to love the CMs at the Polynesian don't you!

Glad to hear your stay was wonderful; the Poly is our favorite as well. Like BCV23, though, we have had a few glitches recently.

BCV23, when in Feb. are you returning? We are looking at the first full week of Feb. for an early Valentine's treat. It would be cool to bump into you in the halls of Hawaii again!

We were quite nervous about the Poly because we've heard so much about the various service glitches, rooms with odors, etc. We were in Raratonga which was recently refurbished, I think? Our room was really good - whew!

No construction at the GCH from what I saw other than some stores being redone.

Ate at the Kona for breakfast - outstanding!

They ended the CP with the Hallelujah Chorus. In the past they've included all of the rest of the CP. Was just a surprise.

Just loved the Poly. Not our #1 favorite (that's a toss up between Yacht Club and WL, but probably #3). :cool1:

Kerri, thanks for the replies. Was the construction back by Captain Cook's or have they started in the front?

As far as the glitches, I think we've been spoiled by so many perfect vacations at the Polynesian.

Donna, we're not going until the 1/2 half of Feb. and we're not doing concierge this trip. :sad2: :sad2: After our GVC stay in Oct., my DH said the difference in price wasn't worth it. Now he never says that when we're in LVC.....explain that to me! Oh, well one of these trips he'll weaken again. :cheer2:

Yep, the construction was back by Captain Cook's. No other construction from what I saw. Have a great stay! :flower1:

When we stayed at the Polynesian on 12/16 to 12/20 they were doing construction in the hallway near the Polynesian Princess giftshop. There is a new wall there and new lighting fixtures on the wall.

We were walking to Capt. Cooks late one night at like 2 am and that hallway was all torn apart w/construction workers working on it. All the ceiling tiles were ripped apart and wires were hanging out of the ceiling. The workers didn't make us walk around the other way, they moved all their equipment over to the side- I thought that was nice. The next morning we walked down that same hallway and you would never even know they did any construction- the ceiling and lights and everything were perfect!

We also got back from PI late one night at 2 am or so and walked through the GCH and there were people vacuuming and cleaning. I was really impressed that people are working through the night- they take really good care of that resort.
