This was my first trip to WDW and I had the most amazing time. My family and I stayed at the Grand Floridian from Dec. 7th to the 16th. When I first walked into the resort I could not believe how absolutely beautiful the lobby was. The Christmas tree was amazing and I loved the life size gingerbread house. We had a garden view room and requested to be in a dormer room in Conch Key. We arrived early so we asked to be in Conch Key with a dormer room. The manager was so nice and he said that he would get us the room we wanted and he did! I loved the dormer room since it was on the top floor and much quieter and we actually ended up having more of a lagoon view than a garden view.
We ate at the Grand Floridian Cafe twice and the first time was amazing but the second time wasnt as great. But I would definitely go back for dinner. My family also had tea at the Garden View Lounge which was so relaxing for our arrival day and everything was so delicious. I wish I would have eaten at the 1900 Park Fare but I guess Ill have to save that for next time.
My mom and I also met a really nice and hilarious man at the store in the lobby. His name was Donald and he worked at the store next to the Gingerbread House. He asked us about everything we bought and what it was for, it was so hilarious. He asked why we bought coffee and my mom said it was for me and he said I was too young for coffee. Then Donald asked how old I was and I told him 19 and he said I looked 12. Then when my mom went to pay with her credit card he told her that she was too young for a credit card and asked if we were sisters and he mumbles to himself that she looks 13. Donald was quite the character.
I really enjoyed how they were always roasting chestnuts outside, I had never tried them before and they were really yummy. It really felt like Christmas at the GF. I also got a kick out of watching the ladies in the red hats who came to the GF lobby every afternoon. They also had purple and red on and I enjoyed seeing what they wore each day.
My only complaint is about those golf carts that the CMs drive around the resort. They never warned us that they were coming or said excuse me. I found myself always looking behind me to see if they were coming.
Im extremely glad that I had changed my reservation from the Polynesian to the GF. To me, the GF was a much more beautiful and cheerful resort. I feel in love with it and really hope to come back again. Hopefully Ill be able to take another trip next year before Ill be busy with applying to Grad School.

We especially loved all of the Christmas merchandise the shops had and I think we bought about a million ornaments for our Christmas tree.
