Just back from SWDAS on Fantasy Jan 29- Feb 5

They had professional photos outdoors to take photos with as well even on Star Wars day? I hate masked photos

Hello and thank you for posting your post cruise photos and information!

Did they offer Jedi Training for the kids?

I'm sorry, we don't have kids so we weren't paying close attention. I know if they did do Jedi training, it was in the kid's club and not in common areas.

Yes, it was usually in the evening the Shutters photographers would be up on deck taking pictures of people before dinner and you did not need to wear a mask. We even met lots of characters on Deck 11 throughout the day and therefore got pics without our masks.

The stormtroopers patrolled deck 11 on SWDAS, so you could get unmasked photos. Though they did not have the Shutters photographers with them.

We were watching the AFC championship game on deck on the funnel vision and we actually ended up watching with Donald and Daisy, who were just hanging around.

I’m sorry I’m annoying but did they have Star Wars backdrops on the 11th floor too?

Also no pirate night!?!? I thought you get both with Star Wars day at sea!

You're not annoying, I'm perfectly happy to answer whatever I can. I'm just lying on the sofa trying to get over post vacation blues, anyway. I'm not doing anything useful with my day.

No backdrops on the 11th deck for SWDAS. They were all in the lobby.

We had a weird half pirate night. There was only one fireworks show which was SW. However, another day all the characters had their pirate gear on and some guests did dress up. However, there was no pirate takeover at dinner. Also no themed dinner menu.

Most were in the lobby, but there were some Magic Shots on Deck 11 on our Jan 22-29 on SWDAS.
Also, pirate themed backgrounds in Deck 11 on Pirate Night Lite.

If pics without masks are important to you, Deck 11 after 6 pm had two backgrounds set up and on some sea days, they had characters out by the funnel. On our last day, they were roaming outside as well. We also had from 4-5 each day they would come out on deck 4 with us for pics.

Same as above on the Jan 15-22 sailing. There were outside Star Wars magic shots on SWDAS as well (these are listed in the app).

Honestly it wasn't the bourbon, we had a couple in our tasting who kind of took the whole thing over and the bartender either didn't care to or couldn't get control back. I was annoyed at having to listen to them so it soured the whole experience.
Oh wow! Just being drunk and obnoxious/rude?

I had also heard that quite a few missed flights from the Northeast because of the blizzard/snow. We had a really hard time getting out of the DC area while driving.

When you say there was no pirate night really did the navigator or your cruise app indicate that there was a pirate night?

I’m sorry again I know you are so kind and generous with your time and answers this is my son’s first cruise and I wanna make sure we go all out!

I’m guessing attire for 7 days;

- Cruise Casual
- Cruise Casual
- Semi Formal
- Cruise Casual
- Pirate
- Star Wars
- Formal

I don't think the navigator did say we had a pirate night. You can ask guest services on board which day the characters will be pirate based.

Yeah, that attired looks right! Some people do dress up every night for dinner, and others don't. So it's personal preference.

I hope you come back on the DIS and let us know how your cruise goes. Hope your son has an amazing time :)

Do you know which night had the Captain’s Gala menu and which night had the Pirate Menu?

No pirate menu on the 2/19 sailing. I guess I'm not familiar enough to know the Gala menu. Night 2 was Formal Night but I saw very few people dressed up.

I realize it’s been awhile, but could you tell me more about the Alebrije Excursion on Cozumel? Do you have any pics of your creations?
Thanks!
