I just returned yesterday from my annual "Mommy Only" trip to WDW. Each October I go for 4 nights and just chill. No DH, no DS; just me.
This trip I stayed in The Springs and it was very nice to be close to Artist Pallet and the main pool. Usually DH and I stay in Congress Park but I wanted something different this time. I was in buiding 35 which is just behind the bus stop. And speaking of the bus stop; I didn't have any problems getting a seat on the bus. The problem was getting a bus. It was horrible. One afternoon we waited almost 40 minutes for a MK bus. The MK bus seems to have the most problems because the other park buses were pretty much on time. At one point I was so tired of waiting that I jumped on a Bus to EPCOT and then switched to the Monorail and went into the MK that way. It was better than just standing around waiting.
I ate in three new restaurants this time; Rose and Crown, Chef's DeFrance and The Plaza.
I loved the Plaza in the MK for a quick lunch. No problem just walking up and getting seated, and surprisingly the sandwich that I ordered (The Club) was very good. I'd definately order that again.
Rose and Crown the same; I loved the restaurant! I had their famous Fish and Chips for dinner and throughly enjoyed my food. The service was very good; my server was the nicest young woman and I think her name was Tollie or something very similiar. I'll be heading back there also.
Unfortunately my experience at Chef's was far from what I expected. I was seated without any problems. My server was a young man name Justin who was pleasant enough. Unfortunately I was seated between two other tables where everyone spoke French. Fine; I don't mind. Except my server was spending much more time at those tables "conversing" and would have to "run" over to me all apologetic when he realized he was literally ignoring me. My order was wrong, the food was not as hot as it could have been and just in general I didn't care for it. But that's ok. I just don't go back.
The weather was wonderful; mid 80's during the day and a breeze that was wonderful!!! In the evenings just cool enough where you still could go without a sweater or jacket. I couldn't have picked a nicer time to go.
The Food and Wine Festival was nice; but again do not go on a Saturday night. Way too many people. I went Thursday night and strolled around "the world" eating along the way.
All in all I had a wonderful time. And unfortunately, back in the real world I'm now at work wishing I was back in WDW.
I'll try to answer any questions if there are any.
