My husband and I stayed our first four days in a 1 bdrm Savannah view at AKV. We had room #7210 which was lobby level and a great location. We loved our room and only complaint was that yes, it is rather dark! We spent every evening on the balcony watching the animals and listening to the wonderful quietness of the Savannah.
The underground parking was so convenient and kept our car nice and cool. I would highly recommend the Sanaa tour (that someone previously recommended on the boards.) I was the only one that day to take the tour and the guide was very informative and the chef was very generous with treats!
The walk to Jambo house was about 5 minutes from our room and we enjoyed walking over at night to have a drink at the bar. Much more crowded at Jambo house and great to get back to the quiet of Kidani.
We played golf two days at Osprey Ridge and Magnolia. Saw "Big Al" the alligator on the 6th hole and that was the only highlight of my game.
I surprised my husband with Hoop de Doo tics one night and then a Haunted Carriage Ride after at Fort Wilderness. The food was great at the Hoop de Doo and I would highly recommend the Haunted Carriage ride! We listened to an audio story as we rode the carriage and heard the tale of Ichabod Crane. At the end of the ride you see the headless horseman and it is quite dramatic!
Then spent 3 nights at Vero Beach in a 1 bdrm, Building 15, ocean view room. We ate at Squid Lips our first night then an evening at Dockside (great!) and Waldos (also great). If you are into good Happy Hour places these are the places to go. Waldo's is right on the water and from 4 - 7 has 1/2 price drinks and free taco's. Score!
We always eat breakfast at Country Ham and Egg's in Sebastion. For others that like this place they have moved just down the street but food is as great as ever!
The last day we drove north along the coast from Vero to Cocoa Beach and then to MCO for our flight back. The town of Cocoa had some quaint shops and we would highly recommend "Coconuts on the Beach" for lunch. Funky place but good food.
Can't wait for our next trip!
