Just back from SOG, some info I would like to share.

Can you put 3 adults and 2 children in a standard room. :sunny: pirate:
Can someone verify this one?

As someone else said, yes you can (for an additional fee).

3 adults and 2 kids with 1 bathroom will probably be too many people. We tried it once and it did not work out. We were sharing a room with a mom and her daughter, which could make our situation different from yours. Also, we were unaware at the time that some rooms in the old section have bathrooms set up so that EVERYTHING is in one room.....toilet, shower and sink. This was the kind of room we got. Had we been in a room with sinks in a seperate room, this scenario would have worked out much better. it was the mom and daughter's primping part of the process that created the problem (it was August and hot..why primp?). They would not even get out of the bathroom for 2 minutes if someone had to get in there to use the toilet. Hope you have better luck than we did.

Another question on Stars & Stripes passes. Can someone tell me which one I should buy?

I will be arriving on a Tuesday and not using the parks at all that day. I will be leaving the following Monday (and not using the parks). That leaves me with five days of park time. I want to go to the 3 parks, a water park, and then do one day at Universal. Do I get a 3, 4, or 5 day pass? Also, my Universal day is scheduled to be in the middle of it all.

I've always bought the S&S passes and it used to work that if you got a 5 day S&S, you just had to use those 5 days within, say, your 7 day visit. The water parks were unlimited and didn't count against your day. And it was never a problem to go to another park (like Sea World) mid week. Is this still how it works. I can't figure out what ticket I need.

Thanks so much for this thread & it's info!
How was the transportation?
We are seriously considering renting a car....

We were there last week, and we noticed that the buses were punctual (note MikeL1515's bus schedule because that's when they depart. Even if the TTC bus is full at 17:08, it doesn't leave SOG until 17:15. There's a clock at the bus stop the drivers get out and watch).
We had a rental, but mostly we walked over to the Poly and caught the monorail which was so nice not having to unload and fold our stroller.

There are indeed alligators at SOG, not only did we see them in the ponds out in front, but we also spotted one in the pond between the new and old sections.
Also, when your 6yo DS is near the pond searching for the alligator at 11:30 at night on your way back from the monorail, don't come up behind him and grab him and yell, "Boo!" He may cry DW. :sad2:

I also just came back from SOG yesterday. The Garden Gallery is now a BUFFET ONLY restaurant. They no longer have a separate menu. We stayed in the new section - it was great. It is closer to the restaurants except for Evergreens. The walk to the pool wasn't bad - we just walked outside and cut through the old section. We have stayed in both sections and now prefer the new section. If you get a chance, eat at Mangino's. It was wonderful. The Garden Gallery is also good.

I believe the Stars and Stripes must be used consecutively. The waterparks are only valid if it is within those consecutive days. So I would go to Universal either the day before SandS is started or the day after the SandS expires.

Did anyone get a look at the fitness center.
Trying to see what my options are

Thanks

We were suppossed to stay at SOG this last visit but due to a reservation mistake we ended up at POP at the last minute. We had never seen the grounds at GOG so we wandered over there one night and thought it was beautiful. I can't wait for a chance to stay there. We also did end up eating at the buffet after we purchased our tickets. We must have been on an off night because it was HORRIBLE !! :guilty: In all honesty it was the worst meal I had had in a long time and we are by no means that picky. After leaving the resort I told my husband if I were to stay at this resort I would never eat there again !! They didn't ask for ID or anything so I am not sure how they would know if you were a "eligible guest" or not. And they also did not ask for an ID to purchase tickets.

Disney seems to think that anyone can eat there. From the Palm golf course website,
Stroll over to the nearby Shades of Green Resort for three delicious dining options. Start your day with breakfast at the Garden Gallery. After a round, stop poolside at the Evergreen Sports Bar, where you can take in a televised sporting event and enjoy American favorites. And don't forget Mangino's for a delectable dinner.

Savor specialties such as satisfying omelets, crisp salads, fresh fish, hearty sandwiches and flame-grilled burgers or gather for a light snack, a refreshing beverage and good times.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shades...alligators and all. I found the rooms large very nice.
