We had a great stay at RPR from 4/7-4/12. Any questions?

well yeah, tell us something!

Did you take kids? Did they like it? what were your favs?

Any problems? Were the rooms okay? nice? super?

How were the crowds?
:hippie:

It was myself and my husband, and our 2 girls (4 & 8). My husband was attending a conference there. We arrived late on Friday night, around 10 pm. Room was very nice, we overlooked the water and vegetation surrounding the resort (it almost looked like a rain forest out our window). We loved the resort. Pool was great - we spent every afternoon there.

Our days went like this:

Friday - arrived, went to bed

Saturday - IOA until 4 pm. Pool for a couple of hours. Dinner at Pastamore at Citywalk.

Sunday - Universal until 3 pm. Hubby had to be back for beginning of conference. Swam for a couple of hours. Kids and I ate at Jakes, then back to IOA for a couple of hours.

Monday - Attempted Universal by myself with the kids. Little one was scared to do most rides, older one was irritated because that meant she couldn't do anything either. After a few frustrating hours, went back to swim, did laundry, ate at Jake's again, walked around Citywalk after dinner.

Tuesday - spend morning at Universal after some attitude adjustments, pool for a couple of hours, by then hubby was done with conference so we did a final mad dash to IOA to repeat our favorites and let me ride Hulk. Had dinner at Mythos. Headed to Universal and watched the fireworks on our way out.

Wednesday - headed home.

Final thoughts - we had a great time! My 4 year old was tough, scared easily. In a couple of years she will be alot easier. We still found plenty for her to do, but she had alot of wait time while Mom/sis or Dad/sis did a ride. Her favorites were Barney, ET and the Dr. Seuss area. My 8 year old loved Spiderman, ET, Shrek, hated Mummy (cried during the whole thing). I realized my kids are too young to have seen many of the movies featured (ET, Beetlejuice, Back to the Future, etc). My hubby and I knew them of course, but the kids were like "Who the heck is ET?"

Food - overpriced of course. We brought cereal which lasted a couple of days and some snacks for the room so the minbar wouldn't become an issue. Otherwise, picked up breakfast most days at Orchid Court (usually $15-$20 for cereal, milk, oj, bagels, etc for the 4 of us). Lunches at the parks were usually $25-$30 for the 4 of us.

FOTL - The greatest thing ever invented! I cannot believe the people waiting in 30, 60, even 120 minute lines. We walked on to most rides, a few we waited 10-15 minutes.

Passes - we bought the 2 day + 3 days free with the free kids passes. What a deal! We didn't use the last day, which killed me, but still got our money's worth!

Hi Jenn,
Glad you had fun! Thanks for the report. We have the same passes. This is our first time there, so we are not going to rush through everything. How were the rooms? Did you feel cramped? There are 5 of us, so we may be renting a rollaway.

We stayed at the RPR a couple of years ago with 5 of us: 2 adults, 11, 6, and 4 year old. I think we had to pay for the rollaway, so we are planning on bringing an air mattress this time. It was a little cramped, but we didn't spend too much time in the room. I would certainly recommend maximizing time at the parks and the pool so the kids are tired (but hopefully not exhausted!) by the time they get back to the room.
