Isn't it depressing being back in Reading after going to the parks? (I grew up in Reading, now live in Bernville). I was there in May, and am still bumming, but planning our HHN trip in Oct helps. Glad you had a great time, can't wait to hear about it, as I am staying onsite (at RPR) :thumbsup2 for the first time in Oct.

Welcome Back! The only way not to suffer from too much depression is to start dreaming about your next vacation!!!

We will be going to RPR in about a month. We will be staying club level. Do you have any suggestions/advice??? I can't wait to hear all about your trip! Was it really hot??? So many people say "Yuck!!! you're going to FLA in August!!!!!" "Do you know how hot it will be???"
Well, let me tell you, I live in CT and it gets pretty disgusting with the heat and humidity here as well. Last summer it felt like just about every day was in the 90s and hazy, hot and humid...so how much worse can FLA be???

Did you go on MIB??? Was it crowded? Where did you eat??? Well, as you can see...I want to hear it all!!! :) :sunny: :listen:

Welcome back. Were you there at the weekend - and did they have the 'dive-in movie' and did you eat at the Wantilan Luau? We're staying there for one night next month for my son's birthday. Any recommendations on which part of the hotel to stay in? Thanks :thumbsup2

We're headed to RPR July 20! actually staying 3 nights this time (instead of the usual one night)....can't wait.

Actually, I'm not back home in Reading, Pa yet....I am in Ocala, Fla. at my DFIL's house until Monday....so, we have a week of resting and swimming here yet! I need to relax!!

It is hot and humid, but August is the worst month for that. BUT, if you have FOTL, don't worry about the heat....you won't wait long enuf outside to worry about it. Most of Universal is indoor lines, as is IOA. Sometimes the Popeye at IOA backed up outside, but that was only once I saw that, and it wasn't long. You shouldn't be bothered by the heat and humidity if you have the FOTL....you'll be inside too often :teeth: walking past the long, winding line.

Did you go on MIB??? Was it crowded?
Yes we did....and it was crowded (60min wait) IF you didn't have FOTL.....and it was AWESOME!!! Everytime we did it, we did it at least 3 or 4 times in a row! My first time I did it, I scored 164,??? and the last time I did it, I scored 457,900 (or, something like that).
Where did you eat???
Margaritaville twice...once inside (and saw the volcano erupt) and once outside on the Porch of Indecision....excellent both times!!! Also ate at Pat O'Briens..very good food (altho, didn't want to sit outside, so we sat at the bar inside) and ate at Mythos. That was very good also. Everything you read about eating on these boards from those that have been there and the vets, is right on! :thumbsup2 I wasn't disappointed and all I ate was delicious. Even went to dinner at Mythos about 7:00pm-ish, w/o PS, and got seated right away. Very cool.

Welcome back bubba's mom :wave2:

I so glad you and your family enjoyed both RPH and Universal. We'll be there in 34 days :cool2:

I'd love to hear more about RPH. How long did it take you to check in? Was your room ready? Did you make any special room requests in advance? What tower and floor were you on? I can't wait to see your pictures. Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation, sounds very relaxing.

Thanks for all the info Bubba's mom! I am anxious to hear more! Thanks again for sharing your info!!! :goodvibes

Took about 10 minutes to check in as another family was checking in the Loews Member line ahead of us. No rooms were ready. Took a little extra time because I was inquiring about my preference of rooms as my first 2 choices weren't available.

I had faxed room requests in advance a few times, but she said she didn't have them....but, I didn't believe her.
What tower and floor were you on?
Tower 1, 7th floor, room 1729...only 2 rooms away from the infamous 1733 room. (1733 is an end room...we were 3 rooms from the end.

I am computer stupid, so my DH has to post my pics for me. We are working on getting them out of the camera and posted....I purposly took a lot of pics and can't wait to share them. Please don't anybody apologize for asking questions....I asked a ton!!! Least I can do is to return the favor!!!!
I'll get that trip report and pics done soon....promise! :thumbsup2

Welcome back! Small world, I'm from southcentral PA and am checking into RPR on July 25.

1733 is rumored, well, actually true, to have the best view of IOA and it's an end room, so only peeps on one side of you, stairs on the other and it's top floor....nobody above you. It's not club level afaik because I wasn't charged club level rate and didn't get any of the "club level perks".

Thanks so much for the info. I just saw the picture of your view on another post...amazing. Can't wait to read your trip report and see more pictures. :wave2:

glad to see you bubba's mom

just waiting around to hear all about the trip.

i do have questions about rph as this fall will be my first stay there.
my last 12 stays have been at hrh, i feel guilty for trying a new hotel on this trip.
tell us about rph so i don't regret my decision. :teeth:

Bubba's mom Did you get a chance to do any swimming at the hotel? I am traveling alone with my 3 kids(DS9, DS3, DD1) in August and I know we will be at the hotel early so I want to get in some swimming. My DS9 will love the dive in movie. Is it every night? I can't wait to see your pics!! As soon as you figure out how to upload them to this site let me know I am new to this posting stuff and can't figure it out! Thanks Teresa

We loved RPR....since we "preferred" IOA, it was a shorter walk :teeth: .
We didn't go swimming (we had a week here at DFIL's for that!), but we did walk thru the pool area a lot...it's HUGE! Very nice and lots of room, didn't seem crowded at all. Now, I've never been to HRH, so I can't compare, but I did think RPR was very nice. Roomy for the 3 of us. (Also got the "styrofoam cooler" at Pulblix for $2.99......fyi=water aisle, not beer aisle).....Anyhow, at RPR, 3rd floor is lobby...1 and 2nd floors are restaurants and pool and such...confused quite a few peeps.....Like I said, I can't compare HRH & RPR since I haven't been to HRH, but MAC, I don't think you'll be disappointed--you mite like HRH better, but disappointed, NO! Like I said, we didn't swim, matter of fact, I don't even know what movie was being shown :confused3 but I think it's only on Friday night....we were there to do the park (as I mentioned, we had all week to swim at DFIL's).
I have about 18 rolls of film to develop when I get home....then I will do trip report with PICTURES!!! ....everyone loves a trip report w/ pics! :thumbsup2 So, that's pretty much what I'm waiting for. So, it'll probably be a week or two for that. Oh, and I must mention, if you drink Yuengling Lager :drinking1 , it is not to be found in the parks (where we were anyway), BUT they DO have it at RPR  .
Hope this helps...sorry I don't have more info on RPR (or the pics developed yet), but we did enjoy it and now are going back for a couple of days next year when we are done Epcot for a couple of days.

Thanks for the info Bubba's mom I will keep a look out for pics. I love pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Teresa
