Just returned if anyone has any questions- Stayed in Room 3737 / 3717 - we had 2 rooms, was not lucky enough to get adjoining. Views were not great, both rooms were parkway side, but that was not really an issue.

Housekeeping was horrible, we were there 4 nights and I think they cleaned the room 2x's, and it was not because we were there and they could not get in, some mornings we left at 9 and didn't return until after 2-3p and the rooms were not cleaned. I had to call for clean towels, ran out of shampoo/conditioner.

Club offerings was nice, we snacked during the day, and had nightly beers from 5-7 (that was great!) Breakfast was perfect for my 3 year old GS, just being able to get something quick for him was perfect.

Also have to note, my daughter was sick for the first 2 days we were there and we called the doctor service recommended by RPH and they were absolutely wonderful, came to the room (within an hour) with medication and she was feeling better by the next day. (the Doctor even called her the following day to see how she was feeling) So worth it!

Rooms are on the small side (I was a little disappointed with that) we had an ECV & Stroller in a room it was nearly impossible to get around them. Rooms are much bigger at HRH.

Pool was great at RPH, little water park (the Boat) was fun for my GS, poolside food was great. FOTL is the best, wish Disney would get the idea. Weather was hot hot hot!

Ask away....

I am glad you liked Universal, sorry to hear about the cleaning staff. I would let Loews know what happened to you and your experience. They welcome information like that.

It sounds like you had a good trip, all in all!

Please tell me about the club level offerings. I am debating this for myself, dh and ds10. We will have a rental car, and will stop at a grocery store before Universal -- so I'm wondering if it is worth it for only three people. My dh does not drink, but he does enjoy non-alcoholic beer. Do you remember if that was available? Were the evening snacks hot hors d 'oerves (I'm sorry, I know I spelled that wrong!) , or something more substantial? Were there things a child would eat (i.e. more simple food like chicken fingers, fruit, etc.)? Also, please tell us about breakfast! What were the best and worst things about the club level amenities?

TIA!
Maria

whenever you have an issue such as housekeeping, call the manager...

they can do nothing if you neglect to bring it to their attention.

they would have corrected that problem in a heartbeat.

that has happened to me and i contact the management immediately.
no hard feelings then and the trip stays as a good memory in my mind.

never let a problem go by the wayside.
many things can and will be corrected if you take care of it when it happens.

next time, call star service on the phone and they will contact the correct person for you.

i'm sorry that was a bummer for you but glad overall you enjoyed your trip.

No chicken fingers (my GS loves those too), plenty of snacky stuff.

Breakfast- Cereals, yogurt, juice, coffee, milk (chocolate if you ask), sticky buns, bagels, toast, butter/cream cheese mini danish, Crossants, fruit (cut up and whole) - definitely the best selection of the day

Afternoon- Coffee, juice, soda, water, pasta salad, nachos, salsa (kind of sparse)

Evening - Pretty much same selection as afternoon, maybe a diff. hot pasta type offering, Beer, wine (5-7pm)

All day you can ask for soda, juice, waters, The people in the club are very accomodating, we asked for some fruit later in the day and they just brought some out to us, Breakfast is definitely the most plentyful offering.

I just love the idea of just walking down the hall and getting something little to pick on, sometimes you just want a little something.

Just wondering, did you use East Coast Medical Network? My kids were both sick 2 years ago at Disney (we were at the Dolphin) and the hotel gave me their number. It was a God Send! The doctors came to the room (two different days, ugh!) and found out what was wrong (one had an ear infection BAD with fever, the other came down with Strep Throat, fever). It was expensive, but I turned all the forms into my insurance company and couldn't believe how quickly I was reimbursed (or that I was at all!).

Glad all went well. The club lounge is convenient - I am looking forward to trying this next week when we are at PBH. I know the lounge may be a bit more of a hike at this hotel, but still having a spot to relax and cool off with a snack and drink is nice.

I agree about housekeeping with the PP. Next time, I'd call right away if you get back and your room isn't done yet. Sometimes they come too late in some resorts. I will remember to call in the morning when we leave the room to tell them we want it done up early. I've had them come so late at hotels, as I know they get busy with check-out rooms sometimes, but if they know you want it done in the morning they can try. It is disappointing to return and not feel like leaving the room again - and finding it still not cleaned.

Did you go to the other pools? I look forward to seeing them all, don't know if I'd pool hop though, just want to see them.

Yes, it was East Coast, they were wonderful. I didn't think they were too expensive compared to an ER visit, they came with medication & everything. Dr. even called the next day to see how my daughter was feeling. I would highly recommend them.

You asked about the pools, we have previously stayed in HR so I can't speak about PBH (never stayed there) but both HR & RPH have great pools. Different but great. RPH has zero entry (great with a toddler) and fun water park with water cannons and water falls- we had a blast there. HR has an awesome slide, which would not have been good with a toddler, which is why we chose RPH, but you can pool hop, we didn't but we did go to HR for lunch at the Kitchen (GREAT).

I would def. call housekeeping next time this happens, I was just so caught off guard, anytime we have ever stayed at Universal or Disney they always clean the rooms so early that it surprised me, and by the time it was starting to annoy me we were getting ready to leave to go to Poly, so I figured what the heck, I'll just grab towels off the cart in the hall.
