We stayed at POR from May 15 - 22. We had a wonderful time, and I am in a bit of a depressed mode about being home!

Anyway, we enjoyed the resort! It is very beautiful. We were in AB 14. I faxed in this request a day ahead. This building is about 2 minutes from the South Depot bus stop and 2 minutes from the food court, if that! The room was nice, but it did need to be refurbished. The tile in the bathroom needed redone, and the chairs by the table were very stained. There was plenty of room for the four of us. My daughter did end up sleeping on the trundle bed. We thought that would be easier than my kids sharing, and she loved the little bed!

The pool was very nice, but unfortunately we did not get a chance to enjoy it much. My son had to have 5 stitches on Day 2 so he wasn't supposed to swim. I was wanting to try the FQ pool on our off day but didn't get to it.

We rented the surrey bikes and found that to be a lot of fun. My DH and DS rented a mouse boat for a half hour, and they also liked that.

Basically we had no long waits for buses at POR with the exception of our last day. For some reason, we waited about 20 minutes for the Magic Kingdom bus. Our wait was usually 5 minutes or less. I would stay there again, but I have this weird desire to stay at every resort so I may not be back there for awhile! Feel free to ask any questions.

glad you liked it we were there in bldg 14 as well checked out on the 17th our room # 1418 great room ..

Hi,

Thanks for the report!!! Mom & I love it there too.

Allison

We're POR bound in about 10 days, also asked for building 14
.Was it noisy? all the books say it is. I guess I'd sacrafice a little noise for convience.

Are ther any marshmellow roast at night?

Are the refillable mugs worth it?

Thanks,
Jim

What's the number I use to fax my request in? My son and I arrive this Thursday morning and I'd like to be able to do the same. We stayed in this building about 4 years ago and really enjoyed its close proximity to the food court, etc.

Thanks!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

jtovey56 - No, it was not noisy. I, too, had read this but did not think it was a problem at all. There was not a marshmellow roast while we were there. I don't think they do this during the hotter months. My husband got the refillable mug, but I just drink water which is free anyway. He figured you needed to fill it seven times to get your moneys worth. I would say he did, and we only ate there twice. He would usually run get a drink after we got back from the parks or first thing in the morning. You can put coffee in them also.

The fax number is 407-934-5777
I would definitely fax because last year I just made a request with my reservation and did not get it. This year the fax seemed to work. Keep in mind that when we left on Saturday, they had about 700 check-ins (I think that is the number the bellman said) and were filled. It did not seem that crowded when we arrived the previous Saturday.

About how high is the trundle off the floor? My son will be 2.5 yrs old and I am wondering if I will need to bring a bed rail for the trundle so he doesn't hurt himself.

Thanks.

I love POR and am headed there next week. The trundle bed is very close to the floor so even if he rolls off he probably wouldn't even know it. You can always ask for extra pillows and just put them on the floor next to the trundle. We were in AB17 in April and loved it because it was close enough to everything but far enough away. I will be requesting that one again. And don't forget about the butterfly garden behind one of the mansions (I forgot which one) but we forgot to do that on our last visit. We will be doing it this time though. Have fun!!!

We will be there on Friday - I was wondering which bldgs have been redone and there locations. We would really like one already refurbed.

What bldgs are in the process of being redone- my husband will be checking in the next day after an all night flight and will need to sleep during the day on Saturday moening.

Any suggestions that would be near the food court and a bus stop.

Thank you K & K's!! We're so excited!! I hope this trip is as fun as those in the past!! I'll fax the request tomorrow as we arrive on Thursday morning!!

It's amazing how a 40-something mom can be as much or more excited as a 16-year old boy!! I'm so glad he put this bug in my ear!!

pjshaff - I agree that the trundle bed is close enough to the floor that no child would get hurt. My daughter is 2 1/2 also. I was more worrried about her falling off on the bed side and rolling underneath. My DH thought my fears were silly! Anyway, I just made sure the trundle was still a little under so she couldn't fall through, but she went the whole week without falling off the trundle.

tkgdisney - One of the mansions was under rehab. I think it was Magnolia Terrace. I also think someone said Oak Manor had been refurbished. You might want to start a new thread and ask that question for people who stay in the mansions. I really only rode by them when we rented the surrey bike.

To K and K's Mommy

Thanks for all the answers. You're the best. :wave2:

Can't wait till 1P.M. so I can start the single didget dance.
