Just got back from POR last night. We were there for four nights, 9-23 to 9/27. We checked in around 10:00 a.m. Monday and our room was ready. We asked for second floor of building 18 in AB and got 1848, a corner room. The two windows were a nice addition. The room was clean as long as you didn't look TOO hard. The corners were dusty behind the beds and there were cobwebs over one window and above the air vent over the sinks.
The bath tub faucet was so loose it wouldn't stay where you set it, and drifted to hot by itself. I called maintenance twice and no one ever showed up to fix it. Oh well. We ended up just stuffing a wash cloth behind it to hold it in place.
The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Everything seemed clean and fresh. There is new maintenance work going on outside the food court -- they were putting up scaffolding on Monday and the water wheel and cotton mill weren't running.
Buses were efficient and even though the resort seemed crowded we never had to wait and always got a seat. Coming back from Epcot one night around 8:30 we waited 15 minutes along with about 100 others. The transportation coordinator came along and radioed for more buses. Within a minute two more showed up, then a third. Everyone got on and off we went.
The buses always stopped at FQ first, then came to Riverside South stop and exited around the river stopping at all of the other stops along the way.
The food court was good and Boatwrights was excellent. If you eat at Boatwrights, the pork chop is outstanding (and huge).
It appeared all of the buildings were open.
Any questions, just ask and I'll try to answer.
