Just Back from POP!

DS and I had stayed at POP last year and loved it! This year DH joined us and I was sure he would hate it. He travels a lot for work and stays at top of the line hotels. But he loved it!

Got the room request I wanted (70's, top floor facing the lake) and our room was available when we checked in Christmas morning! Extra bonus for sure!

We had no problem with the busses ... didn't wait more than 10 minutes most mornings. We ate at several signature restaurants so we took cabs back most nights. But we were in the MK til closing on the 30th and were back in our room within an hour of the fireworks ending. You can't beat that.

Ate at the food court twice ... once for dinner and once for breakfast. Dinner was actually quite good and very quiet. Breakfast was a zoo ... not sure how people do that every morning!

Our room was clean so no complaints about mousekeeping. We did get one towel "animal" (it was a Christmas tree) during the week so that was an extra bonus.

All in all a very nice stay. We will go back.

So glad you had a good trip. (We eat breakfast at the food court for our trips, and always try to make a point of going early. It's sooo much nicer in there with a smaller crowd.)

That was smart of you to use taxis. We agree dinner in the food court is good but it's probably better to have breakfast in the room.

Last Christmas we took quite a few taxis. It was money well spent! And breakfast in the morning can be insane. We either went around 7am or around 9am and seemed to beat the rush at those times when we ate in the food court.

I am glad to here you had a great stay we where there last Oct for MNSSHP and had a blast.This was our 4th stay at POP,we are looking at maybe staying at POR next July but getting away from POP I am finding Is really hard

Glad you had a great time. I never eat in the food court for brekafast. We sometimes get food, but bring it back to our room or eat it at a table by the pool. Much more peaceful!

Way too chilly to eat outside! I agree that would have been better. We were there after 9 and it was still an absolute zoo. Live and learn. I did really enjoy my POP waffle though!

I'm not sure that DH had a favorite part and I won't lie and say that he wouldn't rather stay at the Wilderness Lodge. But, with finances the way they are, he is happy staying at POP. I think he pictured smaller rooms (the 3 of us had enough room for the amount of time spent in the rooms) and thought that the buses would be awful. They weren't.

He did comment that he enjoyed hearing the music as we walked in the different sections.
