Wife and I usually stay at CSR but wanted to try others and chose POP...our reservation was for a room in the closest 50's building to lobby and a bottom floor due to hip problem...ended up with 50's building 2 rm 2309...a long walk with bad hip...3rd floor...so much for requests...day 1 wife went to use snack credit did not work...got new keys...then would not work in door..,.went back a 2nd time...told all was ok...my key worked hers did not...another long walk...we had to walk 4 times to lobby...to get keys straightened out...day 2...took shower...tub did not drain...another waqlk but this time we were going to a park...asked to be compensated...got flowers in room...somethying more substantial was expected....1 good thing house keeping was excellent....
on to the food court...hello....anyone ever hear of manners...guests there were the most impolite rude people...kids running...screaming....kids pushing me a 56 yo man out of way to get to soda...got a bacon cheeseburger....tasted like vomit.....only halfway decent food was pizza ...but not that good....and another thing was the piggyness of families....throwing things on floor....saw one family get up and leave and floor looked like it blew up...WE ARE A SPOILED SOCIETY....I could go on and on but will not....all I can say is Never again at POP...now on to MVMCP....again does anyone have manners...strollers must have hit my feet 100 times...note to DISNEY....YOU ARE SELLING WAY TO MANY TICKETS TO THESE EVENTS....
One more general comment...we were in the happiest place on earth and NO ONE WAS HAPPY....just my 2 cents....want to flame me...BRING IT ON!!!!!

RJO...sorry you did not have the experience you were hoping to have. I would have not enjoyed the experience you decribed either.
I have stayed at POP once in 07 and it was in March....and we enjoyed it.
Hope you can get back to CSR or WDW for that matter at perhaps a different season and enjoy it!
You should not get flamed for sharing your feelings and/or experience:)

I'm sorry your trip didn't turn out better. We just had our first stay at pop a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.

I will say I'm a bit surprised you are used to CSR but walking around POP was too much for you, but I guess making 4 trips in a row to the lobby will do that to you.

That, and personally I wouldn't blame POP for rude guests. We've encountered them at every resort we've stayed at.

Sounds like you had a horrible time..sorry. Can't blame the resort for rude people though.. and as for room request.. it's just a request not a def. When we stayed at CBR we got the exact opposite of what we requested..oh well..wasn't going to ruin our trip. At Dixie Landings we got exactly what we asked for.. it happens.

Sorry about the stroller hits....man I can remember many a person hitting my stroller.. seems hard to look down and notice a child in a stroller for some.. so they end up running into it and I'd get the dirty look..sucks!

I will say the strollers are out of control - I saw a woman w/ a double @ MK mon. right after the parade literally ram one into the left side of the leg of a 50ish woman and just keep going. They are strollers - not battering rams to clear a way through crowds! Too often the people pushing them don't seem to understand just how far those behemoth tanks jut out.

again does anyone have manners...strollers must have hit my feet 100 times...

My mother in law will never go back to disney and she blames the battering ra..... I mean strollers :rolleyes1

True...and I saw many strollers just being used to haul stuff around..Its disney not an expedition on everest

I won't flame you. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion. We've stayed at most resorts (no GF or AKL) and I have to say Pop is my favourite. I'm sorry your experience wasn't so great.:flower3:

Sorry to hear about your stay.

I would suggest you try to rent someones (DVC) points next time and stay at the Beach club or Boardwalk. The price will probably be about the same but the difference will be amazing.

Sorry you had a bad time - we have always had great stays at POP. I always thought the food at the food court was good - and the crowdedness doesnt bother me we have a little one as well. I never eat burgers at Disney because of how they are mass prepared and left sitting. I like freshly grilled burgers. I would never bump into anyone with my stroller, esp. on purpose.

But I will say - if you wanted to be close to the main building, then you should book a preferred room. Requests are never guaranteed anywhere.

You should try a deluxe resort next trip. The differences are quite apparent. We stayed one night in POP, and vowed to never stay there again.

Pop is great--when it's not overly crowded. Then, it can become unpleasant. BTW, the 50's building is not nearly as close as the 60's. You were not in an area considered convenient to food court or the lobby. As for the rudeness, unhappily, it's EVERYWHERE now. Staying at a deluxe will not shield you from rude behavior. I think people need to again be taught manners--they're practically non-existent. Remember the Disney Institute? Maybe they should revive it and make it a pre-requisite to attend manners classes before entering the parks! Parents have seriously fallen down on the job with teaching young ones how to be respectful and just to have ordinary courtesy. (And some of the parents' behavior is worse than the kids!) I'm so sorry your trip wasn't great. No matter where you stay, you want your trip to be a fun experience--sorry it wasn't all you hoped for.

Rudeness is everywhere, as this poster says. It is not found just at the Pop.

Sorry to hear your trip wasn't as Magical as it should have been. While I've never stayed at Pop, I do know families who have and they loved it.

I will add I dont really see Pop or any of the values as the best choice for adults travelling alone. My husband and I stayed there twice before we had our son, once was while we were still dating, and we enjoyed it but we were still quite young, early 20s, and didnt mind the hustle and bustle. Now that Ive stayed elsewhere, I really wouldnt recommend POP to adults travelling without kids, too much hustle. But I do know that price is the main reason people stay at value instead of another, but once we stayed at Kidani last trip and never heard another soul while we were in the room, and it was never a crowded resort, my husband will have a hard time going back to POP, though we do always enjoy that also, its just noisier and busier.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences.:guilty: I hope your next stay is more enjoyable.:goodvibes

Like other pp stated, rudeness is not exclusive to POP. I agree wholeheartedly with this. This is one of my pet peeves in everyday life, and especially at WDW. It really burns me up that no one, parents and children alike, have no manners or common courtesy anymore. Somedays I feel like I'm the only one saying "thank you" or "excuse me", but I still continue because I want to set the right example for my kids.

As far as the stroller issue, I agree with you as well, even though I push a stroller myself. I am very concious of trying not to hit anyone or being pushy with my stroller. As with the previous paragraph, I think I am the exception, not the rule.:sad2: In fact, I am so worried about being rude or hitting people, that I usually get pushed around myself. DH is always trying to prod me into moving through the crowds better, but I'm too cautious.:confused3

Our next trip is to POP in January. It's our first stay there and I hope it turns out better than yours.

I second that suggestion! I'm paying $130/night for AKV-Jambo House (studio) & $156 for a preferred room at POP for our trip next June.

I can not tell you how much I agree with this statement. Differences are night and day.

DH and I stayed at ALLSTAR music pre-kid and swore that we would never, ever stay there again. Next trip was at the BC-it was like being on a totally different vacation. I don't know why the differences are so big, I realize rude people can be found anywhere, I can just say that the difference was HUGE.

On the other hand we are friends with a family with 4 kids. They did 2 rooms at Music last June and really liked it. :confused3 Maybe we just had a bad experience.

I'm sorry your vacation was so unpleasant. I do agree with you that I will never stay at a value again. Yes, I realize there are rude people anywhere but like a previous poster stated the value resorts just aren't the best option for a couple that doesn't have children. The first time I stayed at Saratoga Springs (first time I used my DVC) I was amazed at the difference.

I want to hear more about that burger! :rotfl:

Seriously, you can get rude people wherever you go though so the resort isnt really the issue.

Sorry to hear about the lousy trip though!
