Hi everyone,

Just got back from Pop Century on Thursday. I had faxed in a room request and it was honored IN FULL-I asked for a non-smoking, upper floor room in the 50's or 70's facing the lake. We got a fourth floor room on the lakeside in the 50's in the "Way, way out, poodleskirt" building.

My 12 yr old DD had locked her suitcase and left the keys at home. We did Magical Express for our luggage and the suitcases were in our room within 2 hours. We called maintenance as per suggestion of check-in and they cut off my daughter's lock for her.

We found the bus service to be quick-only on one morning was it slow (going to Animal Kingdom) and that was kinda our fault because we got a late start. We left the parks every day around 1 and came back to Pop for a swim.

Neither the parks or Pop was overly crowded. We were always able to get a deckside chair. I thought the food selection at the food court was good.

Only thing I would fault Pop on is room size, but we were hardly ever IN the room. I could hear toilets occasionally, but our room was quiet. I loved looking over the lake.

I REALLY liked the Pop Century and would stay there again in a heartbeat. We had stayed at the Swan and POR before, but if you are spending the majority of your time at the parks, I can't see the extra expense.

Thanks for writing about your experience with Pop Century. We are looking at this hotel for our trip in Nov 2007. We want to be able to stay on site but not have to take out a loan to pay for it. lol. I have heard more good things about this value resort than the other All Star resort. :D

Thanks again!

:thumbsup2 Glad to hear it was good!! We will be arriving at POP in 28 days for our first trip to WDW~~ :cool1: :cool1:

Glad to hear the positive post. :cool1: We'll be there in June for the 1st time. Can't wait :woohoo:

If you all have any questions, I'd be glad to answer them! Oh-I had some Disney magic happen too-I'll post about that after work tonight....

When did you send your fax for your room request? We went last time without a request and got a room in the 90's section. I was disappointed at first, but it turned out to be a fantastic location for us. We're returning this AUg and want to try the 50's section only because we never got to see that 1/2 of the resort last time and we want to check it out.

Hi Janet,

Did you happen to notice where the laundry rooms are? I know there's one at the Hippie Dippie pool, but are there others?

Thanks!

Two questions:

1) Do they have Biscuits and Gravy in the food court for breakfast? This a big deal to DS. Last time at ASMo, he ate them every day. I thought they were nasty, but he didn't care.

2) Am I remembering right that at the parks, the POP bus stop is last -even after the AS buses? I can barely make the ASMo stop - I can't go any further!!

Thanks,
LisaB

Which "icon" was in front of your building? Tramp or Jukebox? I don't believe Lady's back rooms face the lake.
I've requested lakeside of the Tramp building, 4th floor.
Thanks,
Melanie

Glad to hear it's still holding it's own! Just had a call from my best friend who came from a stay there and she raved as well. :cheer2:

Thanks for the review; I will be there this November for the first time. Hope everything goes without a hitch being it will be Thanksgiving Week-End. I am curious about the food offerings at the food court. Could you kinda tell what the offering where. Did they have Fried Chicken,Meat Loaf, Pasta ETC. What drinks where there at the Drink fountain besides Coke(Hate Coke) Looking for diet mostly as I am diabetic.

Hope I got everyone....

Zookeeper-I had faxed my request about 2 weeks prior, and again 3 days prior. I'm not sure that they may have paid more attention to my request because my husband was able to come at the last minute, and I wrote about that on the second request.

Atotty-I saw the laundry room by the Hippy Dippy Pool, but I'm looking at the map right now and there were laundry rooms by the Bowling Pin pool and the Computer Pool as well.

LisaBi-I didn't notice if they had Biscuits and Gravy, but one morning my DD and I shared a yummy scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon platter. They had disposable cereal bowls as well, we had Corn Pops. My husband had oatmeal every morning. I bet if you called the resort they will be able to answer about the biscuits and gravy-there were a lot of hot food choices. Here is the allears menu:

The return bus stop for Pop was different for each park. I did notice an ENORMOUS line for Allstars coming back from Animal Kingdom.

Mecook-Our building did have the Tramp next to the entrance for the elevator. That was right around the corner from our room.

Magicmouse-we could see the Epcot fireworks from our room.

Hugpug-here is the evening menu for Pop. I had the turkey "Mom's Night out" dinner and it was good-the green beans were esp. tasty. It was a lot of food-enough for two people.

I AM GOING THERE WITH MY GF IN LESS THAN A MONTH. WE ARE SO EXCITED AND IT IS OUR FIRST TIME AT POP. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS SOME COOL INFO AT POP. IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :wizard: :woohoo:

Hugpug-

Here is the lunch and dinner menu for the POP. We only ate dinner at Pop one night, because we did the Fantasmic Dinner at Hollywood and Vine at MGM. I got the Mom's Night Out dinner with Turkey and it was good-the green beans were tasty. This link lists the drink choices also:
