Hey all,
I can't believe we're finally home from the trip I planned for the last year. Guess it's time to start planning the next one now
Anyway, just to give you some of my thoughts and opinions on both the Poly and the POP.
The Poly:
We stayed at the poly from 5/5 through 5/8 before our 4 day cruise and all I can say is WOW it's beautiful. We checked in before 11:00 but unfortunately because I requested the Samoa building we weren't given a room until almost 4:00 that afternoon which would have been okay if it hadn't poured rain on us an hour earlier. We were at the Volcano pool when the black clouds came and everyone went running. The good thing was we met two lovely housekeepers who were doing a towel animal demonstration so we got 2 cute ducks and a pocketbook for Mom for Mother's Day
We ended up staying in room #3618 which was the third floor facing the quiet pool and it was a pretty and quiet view. The resort itself is absolutely lovely and the hamocks and beach were perfect as well except for one crowded, hot afternoon when no chairs were available and people looked at you like you were from another planet when you were trying to find one . . . . We really enjoyed our stay though and my dd loved the pool slide, the beach and the hammocks.
The POP:
The Poly it isn't but boy does this hotel feel like Disney!!! I've never stayed in a Value resort but was pleasantly surprised by this resort. While it's not landscaped with all the flowers like the Poly, it does have adorable icons and beautiful grounds too. We stayed in room #1372 which was a corner room facing the bowling ball pool after our cruise. It was loud at night but it didn't bother us too much because we were still up most nights anyway. There were always lots of people and families around whereas at the Poly it was much quieter and laid back in the evenings after 10:00 p.m. I like the energy here and would stay here again in a heartbeat because it definitely felt like Disney to me even more than the Poly. The drawbacks are of course the bus stops are sooooo far away from the parks and with swollen feet that's not fun at all and of course no pool slide either but the pool was still cute. The transportation was pretty good with the exception of having to wait to board the bus due to an increased amount of scooter usage here. Either that or I didn't notice it as much in the Mods or the deluxe.
I enjoyed my stay at both places and wouldn't hesitate to go again although for the location and beauty I of course would choose the Poly or another deluxe. My dd wants to do the Beach Club next time what have I done here
