O.K. We're now back from our trip, and it was GREAT!! We stayed first at the Poly in Samoa 3611. Not the best view, saw all the construction in Hawaii (more on that later!!) The new rooms are slightly brighter due to the removal of the wallpaper, but nothing has been replaced! Even the carpeting looked old and worn. They did replace those awful hairdryers though. The new airconditioning is similiar to BCV's, it runs on sensors. It is definately a better than the old systems which sometimes smelled moldy, but coming back to a warm room definately isn't the best. Our stay at BCV was great, we were in room 555, which had an Epcot view. The view was nice, but these rooms also overlook the service road, which was VERY noisy at night. The ceiling fan helped mask most of the noise, but it wasn't very relaxing out on the balcony.
Hawaii Construction Update: Being in Samoa 3611, we had the unforunate view of the construction. Being on the 3rd floor, we were able to see over the barriers, and into Hawaii. They have almost completely gutted the first floor rooms (at least on the garden side). The second and third floors still had drapes hanging, so I'm guessing no real work has begun there. They've also completely gutted the check-in area, as well as removed all of the exterior doors to the area. They have set up a sort of work area in this area, so there really wasn't anything new to see. They worked the days we were there rom approx 7AM till 6PM. We didn't experience any real noise from the construction, so except for the view, we didn't have any problems.
If anyone has any questions, please ask!!!
