We just got back from POFQ - were there from 11/14-11/20. We fell in love with the resort! We usually stay deluxe, and were a bit worried about staying at a moderate, but it was beautiful! We requested and got a corner room - 4135, with a view of the courtyard. As everyone says, the resort is very small and nothing is a far walk. The food court is adequate - we actually preferred the food court over at POR. The walk over is beautiful. The staff was friendly - requested a crib upon checkin and it was there within 15 minutes. Housekeeping was fine - nothing spectacular, but adequate. Did laundry mid-week - had plenty of washers and dryers available. Pool was wonderful - my boys really loved the kiddie pool. Boat ride to DTD was wonderful and very convenient. Used buses a couple times (had a rental car), and they were fine - waited at most 10 minutes. Requested fridge on ressie, and it stated $10/day. Requested again at checkin, and was told free of charge - worked out great.

I'd be happy to answer any questions. We will definitely be staying there again. Can't beat the AP price of $79/night (oh, and they never asked for the pass at all).

OH, just remembered - BEWARE OF THE BATHTUBS! I could not believe how slippery they were. Both my boys fell at least every time. I actually may call the resort, and mention to them that they should put in some sort of mats or something.. be careful

Thanks for the report! :sunny: We are hoping to stay there next June! Glad to hear that you liked it.

:teeth:

Just wanted to post how adorable your sons are momofmikey! I love that picture! :)

Thanks for the info! We will be staying there for the first time also! I'm glad to hear nothing is too far a walk! Did you have a refrigerator in the room yet?

Glad to hear you had such a nice stay. We stayed at Riverside a few years ago and really enjoyed it there as well. I'm glad your boys didn't get really hurt falling in the bathtub. Sounds like they need those little stick on thingies to give the tub some grip.

Thanks for the report. We'll be staying there for the first time as well in March. BTW, do you think the water view rooms are worth the upgrade or is the standard view rooms ok?

Hi - to answer some questions:

The fridge was already in the room when we got in. It sits in a wooden cabinet thingy next to the armoire. Housekeeping had brought another one when they brought the crib, which we obviously didn't need.

Honestly, I wouldn't spend the money for a waterview. It's different than a LV room at the monorail resorts b/c with the LV, all night things would be lit up and pretty to look at (esp. the castle). At POFQ, it's dark and across the water is just trees. The only reason I'd choose a waterview would be to minimize foot traffic outside your room. The garden views are so pretty (although we kept blinds closed mostly for privacy), I'd save the money and go garden view.

Anything else?

We're headed for our 1rst try at PO-FQ in Jan. How was food variety & quality at the courtyard ? Did it ever seem crowded ? Did you walk to POR & how long did it take ? Thanks for the info. !

:wave2:

Food at the food court was ok - eggs, pancakes, french toast, cinn. rolls, bagels, fruit, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips, chicken & ribs, chicken quesidillas, pasta, chicken sandwich, veggie burger, beignets, dessert bar, etc. Quality was OK - nothing awful, nothing great. Never too crowded (except on Saturday), although it is on the smaller side. We preferred food court at POR which had better selection and was a lot bigger. Took 5-10 minutes to walk to riverside, and it was a beautiful walk. You could also take the boat there if you didn't want to walk (or a horse carriage ride)

Hi we were there about the same time as well and felt it was a wonderful resort. We had room 2315 with a view of the courtyard. It was a great location, building 2 (closest the the DTD boat launch and pool and the kiddy play area), 3rd floor and just a few steps from the Elevator and ice machines.

It is short walk to everything.

We also requested a fridge and when we checked in we were asked if we still wanted the Fridge and I said yes. When we got the room there was a permanent one there already in the furniture. When we returned after dinner, there was a small door fridge that housekeeping left. They never did return to pick it up, when I called. I just unplugged it and left it by the door, where it remained during our entire stay. Just in case any one was wondering the fridge already in the room did not have a small freezer.

The beds seemed so comfortable. They must have changed the mattress recently.

So glad to read your reviews! We are headed to POFQ in ten days! :sunny:

I'm curious how long the boat ride to DTD is and how frequently do the boats come by?

We will be staying at POFQ in 2 days. Glad to hear such good things about it. Did you do the carriage ride while there?

The boat came by between 10 and 30 minutes. Last boat leave DTD at 11:30pm.

we also loved FQ and had a similiar experience including slippy bath tubs.
Only thing I wanted to add is that if the boat is full from Riverside people then you havet o wait - this happened to us twice. Also be sure to use bug spray if you take the boat as we got very badly bitten waiting to board.
Other than that, we had a fab time!

The boat ride from FQ to DTD is about 12 minutes - a very pretty ride. I didn't do the carriage ride, but I can only imagine how nice it would be b/c the grounds are so beautiful.

Glad you really liked it! We have fond memories of that place as well and hugely from the boat rides! They were just so relaxing. I'm GLAD to hear they are running again, or still running! I had heard they were stopping them. Though that was a long while back! WHEW!:duck:
