Well this isn't a trip report, too tired at this time but just wanted to make a quick note about our stay. POFQ is a great resort with nice buildings and rooms. The setting is great and really put my parents and myself in a relaxed mood. Our bags were delivered through MME and were in our room at 4pm!

The only "negative", not really bad part of our trip was the bus system. Simply, it was never consistent. Take a bus as the same time on two seperate days and you were in store for different routes. Sometimes it was direct, sometimes stop at the main hall at POR, stop at all bus stops at POR, or even on the way back to the resort switch between FQ and PO each time. The bus system is the main thing that we want to be great in a resort and POFQ was great sometimes and sometimes not so.

In the end though, the resort itself is great and hopefully they continue to adjust and improve the bus system!

PS --> We were in the building to the right of the main building with a view of a little courtyard and some parking lot! They were PAINTING all the railings in that building so it looked GREAT!

Glad you liked POFQ! We will be there for the first time in 2 weeks. I am really looking forward to it. I'm a bit nervous my DD8 won't like the theming but I think the pool will win her over. Thanks for the mini report! :flower:

Glad you enjoyed the resort. We are planning to stay there next summer and the one thing that does concern me is the bus service.

Now let me somewhat "correct" what I mean in the original post. The time it takes to stop at all the Riverside stops isn't BAD, it is just the fact that sometimes after getting picked up at French Quarter we would stop at all, some (main building ONLY), or none. I understand that certain parks share the same bus from certain resorts because of how close they are, but it needs to be consistent. I would hope for this because it would better help plan timing for getting to the parks, dinner, etc...

Great resort in the end, would stay again!

Gotcha! :sunny: I'm sure we'll be fine! Sometimes, I think I read these boards too much! Lol! We stayed at POP last summer and dh didn't think the bus service was as good there as we had at CBR and CBR is much more spread out, more bus stops, etc. Perhaps, our timing was just off on catching the buses! Glad you enjoyed POFQ and would stay there again. That makes me feel better! :goodvibes

When you mention the building to the right of the main building, was it building number 3? I'm going to POFQ in November and requested that building due to its location to the main building. It's nice to know that everything is getting painted now. It should look great when we get there.

Regarding the bus service, the only dedicated resort buses at both POR and POFQ are direct from MK. All other parks have shared resort buses between these 2 resorts. However, the confusion is caused by the reactive nature of the queues and transport requirements. Often, the bus drivers will radio back that they had to miss out a particular resort, or particular bus stop at POR, and this has a kind of knock on effect for the next bus. It's confusing in a way, but also good that at least they are reacting to the set of circumstances that prevail at the time. I'd say, don't worry, it never takes too long! Queuing to come back from Epcot at closing time is, however, a different matter...!

Sounds like you stayed in building 3. I too stayed in building 3 and we loved it. It is a convenient location. We did not experience any different bus routes last year this time. We ALWAYS went to each depot at POR after leaving POFQ. It is not that bad but man would it be great if they just went to the park. Oh well too much to ask.

Yes that's the building! During our stay they were doing all the RAILINGS and poles that support everything! It really brightened up the buildings and I can only imagine what they will look like when the outsides of each guest room is painted! Enjoy your stay, you'll love it!

Thanks for the positive report. We'll be there in a couple weeks for the first time. The only concern I had was the bus service - we have been spoiled by being at the Swan/Dolphin lately. This trip is mostly water parks & PI tho, so POFQ didn't really seem any less & maybe more convienent than Dolphin & we get free dining.
I'm voraciously reading anything about POFQ since it's new to us.
