We just got back from 2 nights at PBH. We booked a standard room with our Platinum Loews. We were automaticly upgraded to a Portofino suite at the time of reservation. When we checked in I asked politely for a further upgrade to a Villa suite, if available, and they gave it to me! I did hand over our Platinum Loews card when we checked in. It was a beautiful 2 BR suite with 3 balconies (one covered) on the west wing. We had a great time and really enjoyed this suite!

Thats terrific! Dont ya just love Portofino? I think their suites are sweet! Can't wait to stay in another.:) You didnt happen to give Bice a look at or maybe even eat there? I'm curious if they changed it much.

So glad you had a great time and a great room!! :)

The 2 BR villa can accomodate 8 people. We had 2 queens, 1 king and a king fold out couch.

Jessica, no we didn't get a chance to visit Bice. It was a short visit. We did eat at Tchop chop and Emeril's in City Walk. Great as usual!

Portofino sounds great - I'm dying to stay there, we're going to be at HRH for 5 nights early June, and I'm tempted to add a couple of days there at the end of our vacation. Have either of you "resort hopped" at Universal? tia

Hi ya hannahouse,

Ive resort hopped a few times. It's easy as pie to make the move and a great way to taste the different themes. One trip we started at HRH had a ball and moved over to end the trip at PBH for some down time (and lots of extra space). Its much more tranquil at Portofino. They moved our luggage and even offered to transport us. It was great!

Thanks, Jessica! Can you tell me a little about the rooms - we've got a deluxe at HRH, because there are five of us. Do the deluxe rooms at PBR have the pull out sofa, or do you just have to get a cot? tia

Bumping - the current discussion reminded me of this thread. Is this the same villa suite goofy is getting? Thanks for any explanation!

DF, Yes, 3553/3551! It certainly is a incredible suite! We love PBH and will be going back next year with DS, his GF, DD and her best friend!

I see your trip is around the corner. Happy planning! Congrats to your DD on her graduation and college plans.

The villa suite you are all talking about is the one that is a little further down the hallway then the one they have blocked for goofy!. It really is a fabulous suite. The only difference between the two is the proximity to the elevators and a little better view of the bay.

Could you tell me if the one by the elevators is noisier than the other villa suite? I don't sleep well with hall traffic late at night. What type of view is the one further down have compared to the elevator suite? Also, which would be closer to the club lounge, pools, etc. Thanks so much!

I never noticed any noise from the elevators or people getting off them but I usually have them send up a sound machine for sleeping. The fifth floor only has rooms on the left side of the hall facing the bay. There are no rooms on the right side overlooking the pool. Less rooms means less traffic. To be honest I think we saw maybe two people combined each time we stayed in one of those villa suites. The view is about the same but if you notice the west wing starts to curve about half way down. You kind of have to turn your head left to see the entire bay while the one off the elevators you are right in the middle. Don't get me wrong they are both fantastic but having stayed in both I like the view from the one off the elevator. Nobody in their right mind would have a problem with either view though. If you can find pictures of the west wing the suite locations are easy to spot because of the covered balconies. You can see the pinkish colored one with gray trim right off the elevators and you can see the reddish colored one with orange trim further to the left. Both of those covered balconies are the two queen connectors to each suite. Both are very far from the club lounge but both are convenient to the beach pool and boat dock. In fact you can watch the water taxi coming in under the bridge and then casually walk down without having to wait in lines.

Our reservation is for 2514 and 2515, PBH. Do you know which wing these rooms are in? Are there any 2 bedroom suites on the club level?

East wing rooms begin with 1, villa wing with 2, and west wing with 3. The rooms you mentioned are in the villa wing on the 5th floor which is where they usually put club level guests. PBH does not have a level with only club rooms like the other two hotels. For the most part they try and put club level guests on the 5th and 6th floors of the villa wing but technically you could be in a deluxe room anywhere in the hotel. Suites are located throughout the hotel. Most villa suites are in the villa wing with two in the west wing, portofino suites and kids suites are mostly in the east and west wings, hospitality suites are in the hospitality wing, and the Pres and Gov. suites are in the villa wing.

Thanks for the info. Like most people, I 'm hoping to maximize our accomodations, so I want to be close to the club lounge, yet with the largest square footage available. Should I stick with 2514 and 2515 or should I try for suite upgrade, based on proximity to the club lounge?

I am always looking for more space and have become very spoiled getting suite upgrades most of the time. But if you would rather be close to the club lounge you should probably stick with your deluxe rooms. I am not completely sure but it sounds like your rooms are close to the lounge because of the last two digits being 14 and 15. I'm throwing out a guess here so you shoud prob call the hotel and confirm but they may also have bay views.
