We just got back from our stay at ASSP with a group of 10 (including our 18 month old daughter). We were on the Disney Dining plan. We had some great meals and were constantly eating. We even left with many CS meals and Snacks left over. We planned on using them up (atleast the snacks) before we left but never got the chance. I couldn't imagine not having been on the dining plan it would have been a much different experience.
MK day 1-TONY"S
We had dinner at Tony's. The meal was fantastic. My SIL is saying that this is here favorite meal ever. Most of us had the NY strip steak with mashed potatoes and a veg, while some had the salmon. The desserts were beyond words. We all had a different dessert and shared. We had a great experience.
AK day 2- Yak and Yeti CS
We had lunch at Yak and Yeti. It was ok, certainly nothing to rave about. It served it's purpose. We had the orange flavored chicken with rice. It wasn't very tasty, but ok.
Mickey's BYBQ
We had a great time. I honestly did not eat much. I wasn't really in the mood for hamburgers and hot dogs, and wasn't very hungry. I picked and enjoyed the wine. The kids had a great time. My 18 month old did not stop dancing from the minute the music started. The children 5, 11, and 12 also really enjoyed. We all danced and had a great time.
Day 3- Hollywood studio's
I don't honestly remember where we had lunch. I had a turkey sandwich over in front of TOT. It was good for lunch, no complaints.
Hollywood and Vine-
We had the fanstasmic package. I had heard awful reviews of this restaurant and was concerned. We thought it was good. I think that you need to keep in mind that it is a buffet but it was a good buffet. It had many unique choices. I am really glad that I had the Fanstasmic package because otherwise we wouldn't have been seeing the show. We got tied up at Toy story and only arrived to the show 30 minutes early. The place was packed with standing room only. We walked in to a half empty section with great seats. It wasn't until 2 minutes before the show started that they started filling in our section. I had never seen Fantasmic before and am really glad that I did. It was a fantastic show that I think everybody needs to experience atleast once.
Day 4-
We ate lunch at Downtown Disney, Earl of Sandwich. Wow, I definetly think it was the best sandwich that I ever had. We couldn't decide at first between EoS or Puck express. We were eating a large dinner that night and I am glad we decided on Earl.
The WAVE-
This was definetly my least favorite sit down. Our server seemed stressed and was not as friendly as the others we had had. My daughter and I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and it was very different then what we had expected. I didn't expect bones in my pot pie, we were given whole chicken legs. It was ok. Others had the steak and they thought it was good. None of us cared for the desserts. We are huge dessert fans and these were not what we were used to. The whole experience was just different. It drove my husband and SIL crazy to drink from the recycled straws. They were made of cardboard.
Day 5-
CHEF MICKEYS-
The food was good. The kids loved the characters. The characters all came over and visited. Mickey seemed very rushed and impatient, the kids didn't notice but my SIL and I definetly did. We had a good breakfast.
OHANA-
This was my favorite. I loved everything about it. The food was great, the pot stickers, the noodles, the meats, the bread.....just everything. The kids really enjoyed doing the Limbo and learning the Hula. The were given flower lei's while they danced. The dessert (bannana foster) was absolutely delicious. We then walked out to the beach at the Poly just in time to see Wishes at the MK. This was my favorite dinner experience.
Day 6-
We had a breakfast/lunch at ASSP. The choices actually weren't as bad as I had first thought. We had things from Taco Salad, to buffalo wings, and pasta.
We had dinner on the boardwalk at a CS at the Yacht Club. It was also good.
Day 7- We had a quck breakfast and then needed to go home.
