Just back from our Grand Gathering trip......just a few thoughts!

We had an absolutely wonderful trip and with all the help I got here on the boards I thought the least I could do was share a few things we discovered.......

Refillable mugs are a no brainer - We never got one in the past because I thought it would be a pain carrying them around. Boy was I wrong, all we did is threw an empty Ziploc in the back pack and threw them in there when we were done. They are now a must do on every future trip!

TRex was really good - As much as I hate to disagree with Kevin, we really liked it. It was a bit overpriced but what else is new at WDW. The boys loved the atmosphere and the food was very good!

Beaches and Cream - Great ice cream, food barely ok. From now on I think we will only be going for dessert!

Fantasmic is so underrated - This was the first time we did Wishes, Illuminations and Fantasmic all in one trip. We really do love them all but I just don't think Fantasmic gets the credit it deserves. I sure hope Disney changes its mind and keeps it every night.

Toy Story Mania is addictive - We really loved it!!! You guys going to the mousefest meet are going to have a blast!!!

Brown Derby's Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake - The Cobb Salad was good but making it at home is just as good. The grapefruit cake tasted much better at the restaurant! Go figure!!! (the recipes can easily be found online)

Club Cool - Still the best kept "free" secret in WDW. We must have stopped in there at least 5 or 6 times and each time there were only a small handful of people. BTW, it sure was hot for November and free drinks hit the spot!

I definately agree with you on both of these (agree with you on your other points as well).

We were very disappointed with the food at B&C because we had always heard such rave reviews. We might go get an ice cream from them but won't wait so long for a meal.

Fantasmic.... what can you say. I love this show from beginning to end. Thanks for the thoughts.

So sorry to hear about B & C. It has always been a favorite. I haven't been to B & C in recent months. We used to go there alot & always liked the food. The chicken soup was always excellent & the burgers juicy. As I haven't been in so long, I don't want to comment on it now. It may have become victim to the meal plans. I will try to stop in soon & give it a try & report back.

I would love to hear what you think. We all had Burgers and fries, except my Unlce had the roast beef. Don't get me wrong it wasn't horrible, just not as good as it use to be. The no way Jose on the other hand was absolutely YUMMY as always!!!!

We found it strange because the parks seem quite congested, but the wait times were not too bad. Just to give you an idea the standby line for Toy Story Mania varied from 20-70 minutes. Not bad for the hottest attraction in the parks!
