Just Back From Our First Trip Home....

and loved it! We spent the first few nights in a studio at Old Key West. We wanted to try it out, and we saved a few points this way. The room was nice, it's a lovely resort and very quiet, which we liked, but overall OKW is not our cup of tea. It just didn't have that Disney feel to us. We moved on to our home resort, VWL, on Sunday and had a great stay in a one-bedroom. DS used the jacuzzi tub one night after a wet, chilly trip to the parks, a real treat for him. I did a few loads of laundry and dried our wet shoes quickly, a nice convenience for me. We used our refillable mugs, had breakfast one morning at WCC, found the bus system to be very good. We're sad to be back and are already trying to figure when we can head to Florida again!!!

We too just returned. We were at OKW from 7/22- 7/27 then at VWL from 7/29 through 8/3, both 1 bedrooms. Both resorts are very nice but I liked VWL for the same reason you did....more Disney like themeing. OKW is beautiful but reminds me of a typical, upscale, Florida resort. VWL just screamed Disney to me. DH liked the roominess of OKW better. I was surprised my kids (DS 18, DD 16) liked VWL better, we went last year to BWV with friends and my kids LOVED that but after our stay they said VWL was #1. We definitely LOVED the jacuzzzi (OKW's was bigger) and I found having the washer and dryer (OKW bigger too) was a huge convience. We toured a studio at VWL while we were there and would like to try it for a trip with just DH and I.....now just to find the time.

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. We too stayed at OKW and VWL last week. However, we prefer OKW to VWL for the quietness. That's what DVC is all about. I am sure when my DD's get older we will move to where there is more action but for now, I need to recoup from a day at the parks with little ones!!!!
