This trip was mostly about the DDP for us. We love being able to try expensive meals that we otherwise wouldn't think to order. Joe and I arrived at Logan airport in Boston around 7:30 and had a couple hours to kill before our trip. We ate breakfast and shopped a bit (love how airports have mini malls in them now!) and then headed to Charlotte, NC for our connection. Small layover and we were at Dis around 2:30! Our airline didn't support Mears so we had to bring our luggage on the magical express. We checked in around 4:00 and headed to 'Ohana after unpacking and exploring. We had the most ridiculous waitress! She forgot the potatoes and veggies, only came around one time with the entree so we ended up with a piece of steak each, and she didn't bring us towels to wash up with. She really took the magic out of it for us. She certainly rushed to the table as we walked out to see if we left her an extra tip though. :sad2: We went back to our hotel and played in the arcade for about an hour. That was a lot of fun, I kicked his behind in basketball! I realize I'm much better at these games now that I'm an adult. Ha!
We really took advantage of the park hoppers on day two. Started off with CS at Starlight Ray's in MK and then hopped over to AK to visit the affection section. That's our favorite part of Disney...Joe is obsessed with Lorenzo the llama, and last time we visited, Luke the goat stole a map out of Joe's pocket and tried to eat it! :rotfl2: After that we hopped back to Epcot and discovered the Land is temporarily closed for refurbishment! That's one of our favorite rides there so we were a bit bummed. We rode some other attractions until our ADRs at Le Cellier and ended up with a fantastic server. We ate wayyy too much, filet mignon for Joe and seafood scampi for me (both DELICIOUS! Le Cellier is a must dine for anyone on the DDP). We headed over to MK after the Epcot fireworks to take advantage of the fireworks and extra hours. I love MK by night. It's so beautiful and the weather is much more tolerable. We tried the carousel for the first time and rode the haunted mansion a good four times. When we got back that night, we had a towel animal!! I was so excited. I'd never seen one before. I even brought it home with me! Our mousekeeper was amazing all week.
Monday we did MK all day and then tried Boma for dinner after hearing so many good things about it. This was quite an aggravating experience. We had 9:10 ADRs and waited an extra hour on top of our reservation meanwhile everyone ahead of us already got seated and it was us and two other couples who had 9:00 reservations and 9:20....we went up there twice and the second time she told us that they were waiting for a table for two, that they were filled up. This didn't sit well with Joe and he went up there. In two seconds we had a table. I was disgusted when I went in there...half the place was empty. Literally. We were really displeased but continued. After eating half a plate of the food, we walked out and asked for the manager. I told her about our terrible seating service, and that we left the food on the table and would rather walk out because it was terrible. NOTHING had any taste to it. The food was cold and the meat was dry. I told her she could see for herself that we hardly touched anything and we were leaving. She apologized and I could tell she was having trouble with her staff because she raised her voice to them earlier in the night because they weren't listening. It was quite obvious there was a lot of disharmony. We got to keep our table service credit but it was just really disappointing since the restaurant had such rave reviews. Our situation reminded me a lot of the Mama Melrose complaints I saw on here. We went back to our hotel and went night swimming in the guitar pool. I was really impressed that there was a cozy pool bar called Singing Spirits. We enjoyed some beer and the warm weather. I loved our hotel. We were in the Jazz Inn and were next to everything without having to hear a lot of noise. We saw a ton of geckos and frogs, and even a bunny!
Tuesday we ate at Captain Jack's in Downtown Disney. I think this place is underrated. Their food was great and the pricing was really decent if you're not on the DDP. We watched swans in the bay and after lunch rented a Sea Raycer for the first time. Joe is really nervous around water and he did a great job steering the boat. In the wake area we went down a narrow canal and a large boat passed us...I was sure we were going under! :rotfl2: The waves rocked and tilted our little boat. He kept calm and I did the typical girl thing and screamed. The rest of it was calm though and the scenery was beautiful. That night we tried Tony's in MK. I loved the food. We had a seat right by the window and watched the parade, then watched the fireworks from Main St, and of course visited the bakery. What better place to use your snack coupons? We came back for more night swimming and went to bed. Disneyworld sure tires you out.
Wednesday it rained like hell all day thanks to Ernesto. We stayed in and relaxed and then went to 'Ohana again for dinner. Everything was perfect this time and we watched the fireworks from the window. I love the warm cozy feeling 'Ohana provides. The kids getting up with their leis and hula hoops are so cute. After dinner we took a romantic ride on the monorail :thumbsup2 until the park closed and went home to pack.
Thursday we were up early and had breakfast at our hotel. Our flight ended up delayed which was bad for us because we had a connection that was on time, so they bumped us up to an earlier flight with an earlier connection and we got home about two hours ahead, which was really nice after a five hour flight! We had such a great time, I love Disney and can't wait to go back. I'd love to have our wedding at the pavillion and then honeymoon in the Polynesian. Now onto the pics!
