Howdy everyone,

We just returned from 9 magical days at OKW and we loved it. It is now my favorite resort. 3/4 - 3/12

I'm not great at doing trip reports so I will just give the highlights:

On Friday 3/11 there was a Grand Opening celebation for the new slide at OKW, Jim Lewis & Mickey Mouse were on hand. Mickey was in his swim suit. It was pretty cool!

We stayed in Bldg 11 overlooking the golf course. Great view and close to Hospitality House.

We did a Wishes cruise on Saturday 3/5 and it was wonderful.

My daughter got to ride on the Teacups with Alice & the Mad Hatter and then skipped around with Alice after the ride.

EMH at MK during the rain was great. No lines and watched Wishes from in Front of the castle.

Lots of character interaction.

Great weather.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

What a great trip! I hope they have a late night EMH when we're there. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Trick!
Sounds great. We are brand new owners at SSR and going in Decemebr. We have been to WDW 5 times before. Two questions? What is the magic cruise? and what is EMH?. Still learning the abreviations.
Thanks

No problem.

EMH is Extra Magic Hour. Every day 1 park is open either 1 hour early or up to 3 hours late.

The cruise we took was a fireworks cruise that left from the Wilderness Lodge and then parked in front of the Magic Kingdom to watch the Wishes Fireworks. It was $150.00 for the hour and the boat holds 10 adults. They also have them for Illuminations but they are harder to book.

I hope this helps,

Sounds like a great trip...................how is the slide?? Can't wait until our 2 weeks in August to check it out (but we are going to stay at BWV next month!!!)............

The slide was great. Very fast. My 3 1/2 year old daughter loved it, she must have gone down it at least 30 times.

She also did 2 trips on the Tower of Terror and loved that as well. She's a thrill ride junkie!

I am glad that you had such a nice vacation. Did you ask to be in building 11 or to be near something? How does that work? Did any one in your group sleep on the pull out couch. I am wondering how comfortable or uncomfortable that will be. Thanks

I was thinking of booking this, were you able to hear the music for the Wishes Fireworks on the cruise? Where do they take you to view the fireworks?

Thanks

Hello,

I only requested non-smoking when I made the reservation. When we checked in the Cast member asked if I had any other requested, at that point I asked to be close to the Hospitality House. We had a studio and they have 2 queen beds not a bed and a couch.

As for the Wishes cruise, normally you cannot hear the music, maybe just a little. We were able to park next to a bigger party boat that did have the music piped in, so we were luck this time. We really enjoyed the cruise. You are parked right in front of the Magic Kingdom in the 7 Seas Lagoon near the Grand Floridian. We were also able to see the Electric Water Parade. I would suggest booking it.

I hope this helps.

I will try to post some pictures in the next few days.
