stayed in building 11 room 1120, clean, no maintenance issues and it was ready when we arrived at 10:30 AM!! It was hot!! all week, in the 90's and stayed warm at night. Ate several meals at Olivia's and everything was excellant. Already miss the Conch chowder and Shrimp Fritters. Took the walkway to DD for the first time Wed morning and found that to be one of the least crowded times to do our shopping. MK was very crowded and hot on Tue. so didn't there very long. Went back to resort and enjoyed the pool and a "Turtle Krawl" Now we have to wait till Oct. for a full 9 day stay with DS and his his family. The castmembers were all very friendly and got several "Welcome Home"s.

Im so glad you enjoyed it! We love OKW! I miss it before I even leave! We are trying BCV this summer. It will be so hot, but since we were just "home" in December, we are not going to the parks (crazy, I know) and taking advantage of Stormalong Bay and relaxing. I just hope I'm not too spoiled by OKW's size of their 2 bdrms!

Did you notice any traffic or bus noise while staying there at building 11? Building 11 is close to the Hospitality House and it looks like it might be a busy area. I stayed in building 20 on Millers Rd near the bus stop and we had quite a bit of noise from the buses. Not noticeable if you are on the go, but if you stayed at the room it was non-stop.

The only noise was the sound of the birds putting us to sleep at night. It was nice being close to the Hospitality House without the traffic noise. I always request Millers Rd by the pool, but this was a nice change.

LTGRAMPS - We're just back from OKW, too! And, yes, it was hot. Heard on the Weather that it was more like late June, early July weather rather than early May. Glad I didn't have a busy trip planned because we ended up hanging out in the room a lot.

We were in room 2321, a room I've always wanted to stay in. It's in the first building on the right just after you cross the bridge. Got to sit on the balcony, when not too hot, and watch the activity at the marina. A little loud with the traffic noise but a nice change from typical golf/water view.

Before we went down this time, I posted a question here about VCR remotes with ability to record in the room. I faxed a request to the room controller, and it was in the room when we arrived. And we even figured it out without calling Maintenance!

Two things I noticed on this trip. What happened to the floor plants in living room and bedroom? And are the beds in Master Bedroom higher??

I am sure you will enjoy your stay at BCV very much. All the DVC resorts have their pros and cons. What you will be losing on the size of your villa --which really, the only major size difference is between the 1 br at OKW vs 1 br at BCV etc (the studio which makes the 2 br is almost essentially the same size in all the WDW DVC units)-- will be made up in your very convenient location to: parks, restaurants, nightime entertainment, full deluxe resort amenities, etc. BTW, You will love SAB it is a wonderful pool!!!
Have a wonderful trip!!

on building #11 along with # 12, 13 & 14. There are NO sidewalks or crosswalks from the buildings to the Hospitality House. You had to walk in the road or in the parking lots which were just as dangerous as the road. DW and I almost got hit by a woman driving and talking on a cell phone, not paying attention and went right through the stop sign completely oblivious that she almost hit us.

LTGRAMPS...Thanks for the report. I have requested a similar room for my trip to OKW in July. Stayed at BCV last year and loved it!!!!!!!!!!

LT Gramps,
Thanks for the report. Is the walkway to DTD lighted and paved all the way? We took it a couple of years ago but it wasn't really a finished walkway.

margaretCT,
We requested a recordable remote at BWV but were told they don't have any. I'm glad to hear OKW does.

The walkway is paved all the way but it is not lighted. One small section close to the West side has lights, but I would not try to navigate it after dark

My wife and walked it last February in the daytime. I don't think I'd try it at night. You would need a flashlight and I imagine the local wildlife (to include the occasional gator) might be out and about along the canal that is right next to the walkway for the majority of the distance from OKW to Downtown Disney.
