Just back from OKW

My husband and I just returned from our 5th trip to WDW. This time we went without the kids, and stayed in a studio at OKW. We stayed at POP twice and POFQ once before joining DVC last year. In October we stayed in a 1br at AKV-Kidani and absolutely loved it! We wondered if we would enjoy OKW too, but knew it would be a completely different kind of trip. Well, OKW was terrific! We were in a studio, 1320, across from Hospitality House, so convenient to everything. I loved the relaxed feeling of the resort, and all of the cast members were extremely friendly. The bus service was excellent, and we aslo enjoyed the boat ride to DTD. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was fine, but certainly not luxurious ( I really missed the tub at AKV)! We have a few other resorts we'd like to try, but wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, especially given the low points. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm considering OKW for our Easter trip if my BLT waitlist doesn't work out. My main concern is the distance from everything. How did you find the bus service? Are there several stops within the resort? Also - did you eat at Olivia's?

Believe it or not, we find OKW to kind of be nice and central to most anywhere. It's a stone's throw from DTD and Epcot as the crow flies, and a quick ride to MK and Studios as well. The only place that is a bit of a distance is AK, and that's made tougher by the fact that the bus to AK from OKW stops at BB first. If you want "far away", I'd say that's AKV, but OKW is pretty central and has spectacular bus service.

ellenmiele: The bus service is just fine, they are constantly running. There are other stops within the resorts - we timed a few times Driving vs taking the bus and the busses always were faster.

As for Olivia's - they have a great Breakfast and Lunch - dinner was just OK to us - but many love Olivia's for dinner.
