Hey to all, we just got back from OKW

While I love the resort, but the building (49) was thisclose to the highway. So, it was pretty LOUD. But what the hey, a loud night at Disney beats a quiet night at home!

On a more positive note...I walked onto Everest 3 times in a row! I went back later in the day but it was down. All that needs to be said is WOW!

fairy tales DO come true...and I married mine

That is one of the neatest sayings I've seen in the signature line. You deserve a lifetime of happiness and "magical" vacations!

So glad to hear you had a good time. I can't wait till I try OKW next year, I requested building 45. I'm guessing that it might be close to the highway too since your 49

Not to fret. Building 45 isn't close to the freeway like building 49. You can check on the map if you want.

Have a great trip!

Glad you had a good time, nice pictures.

We were in a GV in Bldg 49 and were oblivious to traffic noise (and I am pretty sensitive to it having previously stayed at OKW (Millers Road area) where it was an issue...guess our lively conversation drowned out the traffic! I love OKW and am learning to relax about choosing the PERFECT location.

What was the weather like? Trying to figure out how to pack. We'll be at OKW in 2+ weeks.

FWIW, We have stayed in 45 before & liked it. Balcony faces canal. You do get some boat noise (low hum) but nothing disruptive at all.

It was fair during the day, but cold at night. Now this is coming from a man that lives in Colorado. So when I say cold, it wasn't really. It was colder than we expected though, so he shorts and tee shirts stayed in our bags. All the CM's were wearing coats. It was kinda funny. I wore jeans and sweatshirts, DW and DD (11) wore the same plus a windbreaker.

Just returned this evening from 3 nights at OKW --Building 49 GV. The weather has turned much warmer from earlier in the week---we actually didn't need our jackets today---and we're FLORIDIANS!!!!! :rotfl2:

Building 49 is VERY close to the highway but since we didn't spend much time out on the balcony---it didn't really matter.

Crowds weren't too bad yet BUT I'm sure it will change soon with the Holiday weekend coming up.
