I was really nervous about staying at OKW, but since it was either there or SSR because we were renting points from my BIL, we opted for OKW based on the photos of both resorts.
What a good decision!
After a long night of flying on the red-eye from Seattle, we arrived at OKW via Magical Express at about 11am. As I had suspected, our villa wasn't ready yet, however, I asked if there was anything open (we had requested a one-bedroom with a separate bathroom entrance) because we were just exhausted. The lady took pity on me and was able to put us into bldg 35 which was cleaned and ready. Wow, did we luck out! We were right across the street from the Turtle Pond ( or Turtle Soup as DS called it) but stop and right around the corner from the Turtle Shack pool. Great location!
For the most part, we loved everything about the resort. The bus service was excellent in the mornings and at night. In fact, sometimes we were the only people on the bus! Afternoons and early evenings were a bit more of a wait and the bus to DTD was sporadic at best. We had some noisy neighbors and the walls are pretty thin, but that is really my only complaint. The cast members weren't the friendliest (other than the front desk) but it wasn't enough to impact out stay.
All in all, we were sad to leave our "home" at the end of the week and look forward to going back someday!
