Just back from Mauritius......any questions?!!!

Welcome back ~ Are you doing a trip report?

Did you have a great time? A friend of mine went there last year.

Yes, how about a trip report.

Tell us about it then! Better yet, any pictures? :)

Is it suitable for kids or mainly couples?

OK, a trip report to follow!!!

We went through the tour operator 'Beachcomber' and flew with Air Mauritius............we up graded to business class on the way out and economy on the way back. NEVER EVER fly Air Mauritius if you can help it, the longest 12 hours of my life! If you want the gory details just ask!!!

We stayed at the Shandrani Hotel on an all inclusive basis. We had two deluxe rooms overlooking the beach/sea, one for us and one for our son Jake, aged 3! The rooms were massive, bright and airy and we were generally pleased with them. The hotel was lovely, but we visited Paradis hotel for 2 nights and liked that one better still!!!

We had terrible weather the first week, wind and rain, but it was hot and sunny the second week! The island was beautiful, gorgeous beaches and turquoise sea.

The people there were a mixture of honeymoon couples and familes, and I'd say that whilst it is very romantic it is also good for kids and the Mauritian people love children. Jake had fun on the beach and in the sea and was quite content!

Any questions ask away!!!

Okay, a question from a not as well traveled as I thought American. Where is it?

It's in the Indian Ocean, close to the Seychelles and about 4 hours flight from South Africa! If that helps!!!
