Hi,

We just got back from a great stay at the HRH. It was our second visit to this hotel, the first being last year.

We checked in just before 10am and there was already a room available which was great. We were given room 7056, which is a great room with a fantastic view of the pool and the theme parks. I could see the Hulk, duelling dragons, doctor doom, and the universal globe from our room.

We were also pretty close to the club lounge as well, which was handy for grabbing a quick drink.

We liked the club lounge, but I don't know whether it was just really busy or if this is the norm but the lounge was nearly always packed. You had to be there by about 5:15 if you wanted a seat for the evening offerings, or turn up pretty late like 6:30ish and you'd be ok. Food and drink were good and plentiful but there was nearly always a queue for the food.

One breakfast we arrived at 9:40 and there was a queue of about 20 people waiting to get food, we didn't even attempt to get a seat that morning! I'm not sure whether we spoilt after arriving following a 4 night stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge but I did prefer AKL concierge. The lounge was just more spacious and never seemed packed. The one thing I did prefer about HR concierge was the availabilty of bottled water to take to the parks.

Overall though we really liked HRH. The room was clean and modern, we had room service one night and it was good and I love how close it is to the parks. Maid service was fine, and the reception, bell, and concierge staff were all friendly and helpful.

I would definitely stay there again, but may try Portofino next time in the hope that the lounge is a bit less manic.

If anyone has any questions let me know.

We also just returned from Club at HRH this past weekend. I agree it seemed to be more busy than it has been on our last few visits. Breakfast time could get crazy and the evening apps and drink time was usually a mad house. I was surprised at how many people were there at 5:00 pm. On past visits, it was never so crowded with people lingering for so long. Usually you would have waves of people come in, but it was consistently busy the entire time. That said, they are going to start renovations on the Club Level soon, so hopefully it will be better. This was my second stay that they ran out of red wine during the cocktail hour and did not bother getting any for the rest of the night. I really think they should know when they are running out and be able to have some sent up if they run out during the 5-7pm time period. I can't imagine that people would be so patient if they ran out of beer during that time! Afterall this is what we are paying the additional money for.

club was probably super crowded as all the females that were at the hotel for Rock of Love stayed on 7th floor.

brett michaels did his filming for his show at hrh this past weekend.

 did you see him, mac??

We didn't see Brett, but saw the big tour bus and the filming around the hotel. Looked like they were just shooting scenes of the hotel when we were around. We were in the pool the afternoon they were doing the pool scenes. I like how the Club conceirge referred to the Rock of Love girls. He said they were just some "poor" girls that couldn't afford much clothing!:rotfl:

Was Eugene still working in the Club Lounge? He was AWESOME with all the guests....every age, shape and size. My kids were digging his spiky hair.

Eugen is still there! I agree, he is the best. My kids love him - he has the greatest stories and is very engaging with all guests.

rock of love is not my favorite tv show........the way some of the gals fawn over him and argue with each other is not the type of entertainment that keeps my interest.

did catch a look at brett. he looks good still.

with the filming there, things changed for the other guests staying on site.
one morning i had to sit at one of the outer tables for breakfast in the Kitchen.
the breakfast buffet was in the side room and not a good way to have it presented for the diners. no staff present to make the omelets.

rest of the tables couldn't be used as Brett was doing a filming called cooking for the girls. that wasn't to be done until 2 that afternoon. still at 7 in the morning, guests had to sit at tables away from that area.

the girls have one bus and brett has his own.
saw them parked on the side road on the weekend.
